Holiday over Christmas - your recommendations please
Me and lovely new lady are wanting to go away for Christmas and New Year.
We looked at New York, but have decided that it's just a bit too pricey to stay anywhere decent over Christmas time.
Basically would prefer a romantic city break type place. Or, failing that, some kind of country retreat style jobbie with log fires and country walks. You know the score.
Oh, and somewhere that's conductive to great bumming. Of course.
oh, and maximum of about £1,500 or something.
One week or two. Doesn't matter.

Re: Holiday over Christmas - your recommendations please
A friend of mine has been to Canada for Christmas and stayed in a log cabin jobby, which would be ace with a good few people.

Leeds?
Not Stockholm anyway, the weather can be a bit dodgy over christmas, all cold and no snow. we normally have a white christmas, but it certainly isn't guaranteed and if it isn't it's shit sandwich.

You realise that you just offered Tom Ross carte blanche to utilise your flat for bumming in the future, yes?

In winter? Sounds ace. What's the weather like? Suitable for hiring a 4x4 and doing some driving?

Cabin with personal hot-tub with ski-ing etc all around, 4x4 driving if you want, that area of Canada is just the best.
