I'm glad there's boxing on because I'm going to the pub. But this is hardly boxing.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

You know what, I reckon this could be a real good fight, not because of the ability of either man, but because neither are any good. Williams should have too much for Big John if Danny is in any kind of shape and has some focus, but you never know with him.

When I say 'good fight', I mean stumbling around, punches landed, defences wide open, no footwork and somebody getting put on their arse.....so not a good fight at all, but one worth watching either for excitement or comedy value.

not a big fan of the heavyweights, but ill give it a watch, im going with danny Williams myself, he`s looking trimmer than ever, and seems to have an unseen look of determination on his face now

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

Williams inside 6. I'm expecting very little in terms of excitement and quality but a stoppage nevertheless.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

Decent 5th round excitement. Williams is wide open to those upper cuts. These 2 are clumpo's but it makes for some decent action.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

Close decision, some of the scoring was madness, but apart from the 5th, and the 11th when Williams had 2 points deducted, McDermott didn't do much. A draw may have been fair, but I was left with the feeling that Williams did more and edged it.

I meant terrible decision in the scoring, how the hell did they score it that wide!

Backtracking is good.

Ha! You shifty bastard! Yeah, I agree bro, the scoring was poor, the result was debatable, but Williams didn't win it widely. Danny should get out of it now, unless he needs the dough.

Yep agree, how he stayed up in the 5th i'll never know, he took some smacks and fair played to the ref for not stepping in.

Yeah, I thought the Ref had a good night all round. He stepped in and warned when necessary and didn't dive in when Williams was in bother. There was some decent uppercuts landed by Big John, but he is a plodder to be honest and needs to up his game to achieve anything.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

Fights like that do little to promote the heavy weight division. The only one I can say I am looking forward to watching is David Haye.

He's good to watch is that lad and it looks like he could well win it but i'd love to see him get landed in the first 10seconds just cos.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

It was as good a heavyweight fight I have seen domestically for a long time.

I actually thought Williams won. Apart from the 5th round and the last two, I didnt see McDermott winning too many to be honest. The home support cheered everything McDermott did and I think that fooled everybody covering the fight for Sky!

Neither are going to achieve much in boxing. I just hope David Haye can take a punch from a decent heavyweight because he could tear this division up. I have my doubts about how his chin will hold up though.

Re: Danny Williams v John McDermott

I see that Williams was linked with another shot at the Heavyweight title after his win on Friday, just goes to show how bad that division is at present.
