Re: Western Fans - Need your advice...

The second box-set if you're not hung up on extras. Obviously there's probably not much need to praise the Dollars trilogy. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is worth the price on its own. Hang 'em high is a cracking Western in itself.

Would highly reccommend this box-set too
hmv.com: DVD: Wild Bunch/Pat Garrett/Ballad Of Cable Hogue/Ride The High Country: 6dvd (2006)

Cheers for that. I'm not into Extras but the 4-DVD set got a poor review on Amazon. I think I will go for that one. Thanks.

Re: Western Fans - Need your advice...

my avatar suggest my bias but i'd go for the spaghetti.

im not a dvd extras type per se but id imagine the spaghetti box set would have some fascinating features on leone and morricone.

surely you'd find hang em high in a more in depth eastwood collection?

Re: Western Fans - Need your advice...

You need a box set with:

The Outlaw Josey Wales
Hang 'em High
The Good, the Bad and, the Ugly
and A Fist Full of Dollars

and can I add that this has to be one of the coolest movie boxes ever.

Buy The Good, the Bad and, the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West and you're sorted.

Damn right - I'd never seen the complete version until I bought it cheap recently - stunningly good film and looks absolutely lush up-scaled on an HD screen.

Re: Western Fans - Need your advice...

once upon a time in the west is a must alright but you certainly need the two dollars films.
i prefer "for a few dallars more" to "the good, the bad and the ugly".
i also have a great double cd with the complete soundtracks to the dollars films and once upon a time in the west.
once upon a time in the west has some great extras on the dvd aswell.
