Re: Nadal
A match no one deserved to lose. Nadal did`nt lose a single serve game in the entire match. Thats is stunning gainst Federer. And think Nadal was the better player last year when he lost the 5 set match, so he deserved this win.
Amazing match.

Re: Nadal
I've never been particularly interested in tennis, although I enjoy watching it at certain times and today was one of them; breathtaking from start to finish. But more importantly, I think I've found a new hero in one Rafa Nadal. What a sportsman this guy is; unbelievable talent, boundless amounts of effort and energy, an unwavering winning mentality and yet a humble attitude. And some of the shots he pulled off today were unreal - those cross-court backhands when Federer was on the correct side of the court to return, and yet couldn't because of the early shift in his body weight and the unbelievable pace on the ball, were phenomenal. Here's hoping for a new Spanish dynasty at Wimbledon.

Re: Nadal
Nadal has been my favourite player for a while but this rivalry with Federer has been brilliant. Both excellent sportsmen and I'm made up for Rafa; I love him.

Re: Nadal
Nadal is superb as he is an attacking player, he takes it to the opposition and plays ground strokes rather then the boring serve and volley. This was a great day for Tennis.

Re: Nadal
That was one of the best sporting contests i've ever witnessed. Absolutely epic. And tonight sums up why Britain is no where near this kind of stage in any discipline of competitive sport. Whilst athletes like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer get on with it, no intrusive media intervention, no over night celebrity status, and progress to the pinnacle of sport, this nation celebrates mediocrity. It basques in runner-upmanship. Any hint of glory, and you are labelled a champion in the making. Any valiant defeat, and you are tagged a bottler.
Whoever won tonight deserved it. They threw themselves on the line. Nadal for the jet like start, Federer for the phoenix like emergence from the ashes. And eventually youth won through. Top class sport at the highest level.
Congratulations Rafa lad. A new king is born.

Re: Nadal
Happy & sad. I much prefer Federer as a player but i bet £40 on Nadal to win.
Don't know why i don't like Nadal but i just do, he kinda reminds me of the tennis version of Ronaldo.
I have to say though it was a brillaint final, and a bit like the ashes series in 05, an event that the game really needed. I really hope though Federer beats Nadal at the French next year.
