French Open Final

I can't wait. The best ever player against possibly the best ever on clay. The elusive Grand Slam title for Federer, an amazing 4 in a row and a continued unbeaten streak on the line for Rafa. Nadal has been the only one who can touch Federer in recent times and I make him a pretty strong favourite having won 9 out of 10 clay court matches against Fed. But then how do you rule out the sheer brilliance of Federer?

The biggest Tennis match of the year in my opinion, simply because of what's on the line. Wimbledon might have these 2 in the final but you don't see Nadal winning that. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but this is a much more even match.

I want Nadal to win, but I have a sneaky suspicion it's Federer's title this year and maybe a shock at Wimbledon?

Unfortunately I am working nights so I'm afraid I might sleep through some of it!

Re: French Open Final

Would be nice to see Federer do it. It would give him something that Sampras never got- A French Open Crown!

I don't want Nadal to win, he makes girly noises and should go back to being an extra on planet of the apes, I hope federer wins.

Re: French Open Final

Also, what a joke the seeding system is. How the fuck can the unbeaten 3 time champion be anything other then number 1 seed?

I believe they are seeded like that at Wimbeldon

It's all based on rankings I know, but it's silly. Then again, fuck seedings in the first place.

Re: French Open Final

I like Nadal but he talks bollocks sometimes. He was on TV talking about periods of form, confidence. Sometimes you fell good and play good etc. He could have cut it short and said that sometimes he played on clay and other times he was shit.

Re: French Open Final

I don't even care. Nadal will win this one just like last year, the year before and next year. Then Federer will win the other grand slams. It's as predictable as Sunday coming the day after Saturday.

Nadal will win. Federer isn't the same this year, while Nadal has been immense at Roland Garros...

Disagree.
Nadal pushed Federer much further in last year's Wimbledon final than Federer has in either of his French Open losses to Nadal.

I hope that continues today.
If it does, I can well envisage Nadal winning at Wimbledon too.

Re: French Open Final

I hope Nadal rips him a new arsehole.

Nadal came close to winning Wimbledon last year, and I hope he goes the next step this year and beats Federer to stop his 5 year winning streak.
