James Whale sacked

Now I know it's really tempting for some people to reply to this thread with "James Whale is a Thatcher loving cunt" or some such equally well planned, eloquent outburst. I took stick a while ago for having the gall to say I listen to him late at night sometimes and that was generally the basis of a lot of peoples' input.

He's been fired for telling people they should fote for BoJo, which will give the same aforementioned people further ammunition for having more unqualified, five worded rants about him.

I actually do think it's quite funny though. Much as the bloke amuses me I don't always agree with what he has to say and it goes to prove that some people who think they're invincible just aren't.

He'll be back on the air at some stage though. He's got a big following and they'll listen to him wherever he broadcasts from.

The bloke who's taken over the show (Max Rushden) is very good. Totally different from the Whale.

Wait for it, I'm gonna be slagged off because he once met Harold Wilson or something....

Re: James Whale sacked

I used to listen to him in the eighties when he had the late show on Radio Aire. I phoned in pissed once and he called me a dullard and cut me off, which was completely fair play. Compulsive listening for the lads in our school. Didn't realise he was still in work somewhere though.

And there I rest my case.

Rebel - What he said wasn't just free speech - it was against Ofcom guidelines preventing political bias. Apparently you're not allowed to voice a political bias but you're allowed to pour massive funds into a particular political party whether here or in the States if you own a media group...

there is nothing wrong with political bias particularly when we have so many stations, you can be biased in print media but not in broadcast media, it's a load of crap.

He told people to vote for Boris which is a breach on the rules regarding politial broadcasting.

Right to repremand him, bit harsh to give him the boot.

What case? I just don't like James Whale. Guilty as charged.

The type of shockjock that he is thrives on this sort of publicity. He knew full well what he was doing.
