Good shout, think the majority of mine would be by Radiohead.
I love about 2 and a half minutes into Fake Plastic Trees when Thom streches the word 'Wear', followed by the drums (I think) kicking in.
And in Waterloo Sunset, the line 'As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset I am in paradise' is delivered perfectly imo.

I actually read the thread before posting for a change, still wasn't expecting to see this though. It's not just me then? Wonderfully emotive bit of music, that is.

Re: Favourite individual moment in music
For me Oasis "Half the world away", the first few lines. Its summed how I feel a lot living in the shithole I live in!
I'll never forget being on a coach to Watford away I think it was, all was quiet about two thirds through the journey when that song came on. Everyone joined in singing it, in a sort of solemn moody tone though, it was deep moment for me anyway, it always sticks in my mind.

That was the first record I ever bought and still one of the best.
Favourite moments include the 30 seconds or so that surround,
'wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream...'
and
'BECAUSE, you have not been paying attention.....'

Is that from the MY LIFE album. Dont know if it is but the album is superb. Saw her live in the M.E.N. for that tour. Very underrated.

Re: Favourite individual moment in music
If leaving me is easy by Phil Collins is my most emotional song. When the sax kicks in it really hits the heart strings.

Indeed it is. Easily her best album and in my all time top ten.
As for her being underrated, though - who by? She's the biggest female name in black music over the last fifteen years.

I stand corrected. Maybe I should have said not well known over here. A lot of people would not name her when asked about female black singers. Beyonce and Whitney are in most peoples minds.
Just listening to Be Without You on Youtube. Class.

Re: Favourite individual moment in music
U2 for me, rattle & hum... Helter Skelter . "A song Charles Manson stole from The Beatles...we're stealing it back". I was always heavily into the Beatles and loved helter Skelter, I then found out the back story with Charles Manson and the song, and after that I always referenced that insane mother funky with the song. It just gave me goose bumps when I first heard that line from Bono and the cover is awesome imo, it also gave me another reference point when I hear the song now.

The bit in 'Dosed' by the Chili Peppers where Frusciante and Kiedis do the high note. Right before the outro. A perfect end to a perfect song.
