I'm trying to put pictures from my computer onto my sd card for our shiny new digital photo frame but i'm having no joy at all, i read that i might need a card reader thingy, is this true or is it possible i can do it without?
Thank you for your co-operation. (Robocop voice)

You'll need an SD card reader on your PC, or you could use any digital camera that uses SD cards, and has a USB PC connection. Just copy the files on to the card via Windows Explorer and roberts your mothers brother.

Do you mean back from the computer onto the SD card in your camera? If so, when you connect your camera, does it show up as an external drive like when you connect a usb memory? If it does you could open that up and try and drag and drop the files onto it. I have no idea if it works this way round though. I have a card reader, which is very handy and costs next to nothing. Mrs RiS has slots on her laptop, the flash cow.

Connect the camera and it should show up as a drive like G: or P: or some such. If you open an explorer window you can see whats on the card. If you then open a window with the path to the photos you want to put on it, you can either c+p them or drag and drop them onto the card.

First, you need to make sure you've got a USB cable and your camera has USB-out (most do). Then plug one end of usb into camera, and the other end into a free USB slot in your computer (probably in the back).
If Windows recognises your camera it will show up in the left hand side of Windows Explorer, if not you might need some drivers.
Whats the camera?

Its a Nikon coolpix 5600, it recognised the camera so i went into the open folder to view files and it brought up pictures that are on the camera now and then i tried to copy another pic onto the folder likt RIS was saying but it won't save it on the card.

Maybe the card is full. Move the images off there onto your PC's hard drive (C:\) then try copying the new images back on to the card.

Are you getting an error when you try and copy images onto the card? If so, what is the error?

Re: Techy help pretty please.
No error, when i open the folder in windows i go into removable disk H and i then click on a folder called DCIM which then brings me into a choice of 100NIKON and 101NIKON, theres nothing in the 100NIKON but in the 101NIKON theres the one pic thats on the card, so then i drag a pic into that folder and it works but when i take out the card and try it theres still only one pic on it.
I feel dizzy.
