Croatia
Yesterday I stuck a pin in a map, and as a result myself, Mrs Madstock and the mini-Madstocks are off to Croatia in a couple of weeks. (Nothing like a bit of planning).
We will be staying in Porec, in the Istria region - does anyone have any top travel tips (apart from watching out for slightly confused Croats with large cocks answering to the name of Igor)? There appears to be a fair amount to see, with some top-notch Roman ruins, the possibility of nipping over to Slovenia for the day, and a few other bits and pieces.
Tell me where to go, people...
(As a slight aside, I might need to be fairly near a TV at one point on Sunday 19th August, for an event that I can't mention on this forum - is this likely?)

Re: Croatia
Check out my Istria thread a couple weeks ago: Trieste/Istria - Croatia
I'll be there from 1st-10th of August, I'll see you there Pedro! If you are prepared to stay in a hostel I really recommend the one in Pula, had a great couple days there last year

I stayed here. Not too far from the city centre.

Re: Croatia
Cheers chaps, we are going the "plasticy-tourist" route for this one (we have already done the DIY route to Krakow, Lisbon and Kassiopi so far this year, and I really need to get away and just chill for a bit without engaging my brain), and as such have booked a couple of rooms in this place, which seems generic and touristy enough, if a little like a Stalinist compound.
Thanks to the always-totally-accurate-and-comprehensive-Wankipedia, I have now found the local tourist info sites - for reference:

Mr K-G, we aren't going until 14th, and as such our paths will not cross - please don't cause a bollock-related diplomatic incident that results in UK tourists being expelled.
