Weeksie's nerd tips #9912: Rip dvd's to PSP in 1 step
Been struggling for ages trying to find a decent application to do this, and ive struck gold:

This little beauty does the following (which PSP Video 9 does not):

1) Select which titles/chapters you want to rip (you can rip the whole disk to 1 file, or whole title, or each chapter as seperate files etc). PSP Video 9 only rips VOB files, so you're screwed if episodes are spanned across VOBs.
2) Encode at 480x272 (full screen with no zooming, looks stunning)
3) Allows control over the volume, in case some dvd's are a bit quiet

Its also open source, meaning zero cash outlay. Ive tested this with the latest official PSP firmware (3.50 I think) but its supposed to work with Homebrew firmwares too.

Sure would mate. Based on the tests ive done, 30 mins of vid takes up about 100mb, so you'd get 10 hours worth on your card.

Mr Weeksie you are a gentleman, I have been using Pocket DVD Studio for some time (for ripping to a palmtop), but this looks considerably less clunky.

Well we got out on that ice and started spinning around doing 360s and 180s all over the ice slugging down Jack Daniels as fast as we could. That’s when I heard the most horrible sound I ever heard in my life and I knew we were going through the ice!

I wasn't offended. I have no emotional ties with PSP Video 9.

Does the one you've posted above convert avi's etc to MP4/AVC? That's the feature I used most on PSP Video 9.

As far as I can tell, it converts anything to anything. The 480x272 mp4 output is perfecto on my shiny white psp.
