Re: The Joker

I have to admit the poster looks good but I doubt that there will be third Nolan/Bale Batman movie.

Re: The Joker

Of course there will be. You really think that after making one of the biggest box office smashes of all time, that they won't make a sequel?

Re: The Joker

Use the Mutant gang from The Dark Knight Returns. In fact, just make that whole book, including Two-Face, the Joker and the fight with Superman.

Re: The Joker

Quick heads up that the Tim Burton Batman film from 1989 is on Film 4 tonight at 9.

Think it's worth mentioning that Jack Nicholson gives a great (albeit different from Ledger's) portrayal as the Joker.

Re: The Joker

I watched Batman Begins and it was almost as good as TDK. Really , really good:
Villian: I dunno , I swear to God
Bat: Swear to ME.

Boss line.

Re: The Joker

Loved it from start to finish and I want to o and see it again asap.

Top draw and I cannot wait for the next one.

Been reading up and apparently the Penguin and Catwoman as well as Robin will not be in the next one, they prefer to show a enemy from the comic not shown before in previous films.

Small note had a lad behind us who I couldnt see as he was behind me and he came in late with a mate chatting on throughout most of it. Got outside and saw a ace car as so I thought straight away got to be a footie player and it was - Victor Anichebe. Tit.

Re: The Joker

Michael Caine: Johnny Depp Is Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Is Penguin

Michael Caine is at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote 'Is There Anybody There?', but of course, the hot topic at the panel was still the next Batman flick.

Caine, who played Alfred Pennyworth in both 'Batman Begins' and 'Dark Knight', was asked who the studio was looking at to face off against Batman: "They've already got them in mind. It's Johnny Depp as The Riddler. And The Penguin is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I read it in the paper."

But Caine says he's also heard the same from a Warner Bros. executive: "I was with an executive and I said, 'Are we going to make another one?' They said yeah. I said, 'How the hell are we going to top Heath? And he says 'I'll tell you how you top Heath -- Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.' I said, 'Sh-t, they've done it again!'"

"When Christopher Nolan said we were going to do 'The Dark Knight' next, I didn't know what that meant in Batman terms," recalls Caine about what he thought heading into the sequel. "I said, 'What's the story?' and he said The Joker. I said, 'How are you going to top Jack Nicholson?' He said, 'Well, I've cast Heath Ledger. And I went 'Ha! I couldn't top Jack, but if anyone could, maybe Heath could.' And he did."

Before you get too excited, remember the conversation Caine had was with a WB executive and what Christopher Nolan has in mind could be something entirely different. Nolan has previously said that he doesn't want to do The Penguin because he would be too 'ridiculous' for the world he wants, but with a few tweaks that can obviously be changed.

Nolan is currently on vacation, and will likely do one or two other movies before returning to Gotham, as he did between 'Batman Begins' and 'Dark Knight' -- and given the scope of the latter, you can understand why. So it may be a while yet before anything is officially confirmed.

Re: The Joker

Wow if they got those two guys on board I might get excited about it, I have just been thinking how could they top Ledgers Joker but to have two great actors of their calibur it should be excellent.

I also watched Dark Knight again and I have to say after hearing a lot of complaining about Bales Batman voice I couldn't help but focus on it and it is really annoying and stupid. I hope he lightens up on it a bit for the next one because it really is off putting when you are focusing on it in a intense scene and just thinking the only bad thing about this is that annoying voice.
