Re: The Joker
Saw The Dark Knight, excellent film, really enjoyed it. Didn't notice the length of the film at all, it flew by.
Heath Leger i have to say was excellent, i went in not expecting the great performance everyone was talking about but he pulled it off, i really like the way he used the laugh that the Joker uses in the old series.
Story was brilliant comic book stuff just like the first one.
One thing i didn't like was the actress who played Rachel Dawes, just didn't think she was anygood and i couldn't get why they all thought she was beautiful, she'd barely make in into the amnesty thread. Oh and Bales voice as Batman was a bit too over the top but in saying that he perfect for the role.
9/10 from me.

Re: The Joker
You know, I'm surprised at the amount of people who say the story flew over their head.
I saw it a second time, I like all the details, acting and little bits of dialogue that are relevant later in the film you notice. Though I still don't get the Gordon thing and who was in on it.

Same here. I enjoyed the latter half of the film and the ending a lot more on a second viewing as you can keep up with the pace a bit more.
One thing that also got me thinking was how did the Joker know that kidnapping Rachael would push Batmans buttons? He doesn't know Batman is Bruce Wayne so how would he know there was an emotional attachment there.
Also Batman's reaction upon finding out that she had been kidnapped would have been a give away to Gordon and the other cops as to his real identity would it not?

I thought the Joker knew that Batman would react because of how he reacted when saving Rachel at the party.
All Gordon and the cops would assume is Batman is someone who knows Rachel, that would not bring them to Bruce Wayne as everyone believes he is a playboy layabout who could never be Batman.

Re: The Joker
That bit when Batman opens the door and Harvey was lying on the floor was brilliant.

Good stuff, I'll get in another 2 viewings by then.
I bet thats gonna be one high selling DVD. Most people will be getting that for Xmas if they haven't already bought it. It'll probably be about 18 quid mind.

Re: The Joker
It's $20mill behind Star Wars now and $160mill behind Titanic. It's achievable.

Anyone who hasn't already got it should avail themselves of the bargain offered in the Amazon link up at the side of this thread. Especially the pleb who said Batman's for kids.

Re: The Joker
Not long back from the cinema.
Unbelievable, really really enjoyed it. Thought it was going end at the reveal of Two Face, but they gave us another hour of greatness, can't wait for the next one (rumoured I hear to be the Riddler which I guess you guys already know, I've just been avoiding this thread for weeks)

Re: The Joker
If you see it a second time, you should really pay attention to some of the dialogue and some of the mannerisms of Eckheart. There really is a lot of brilliant foreshadowing, and its not intrusive.

Have just been sent this, I suspect it is bollocks but thought that I would share it in the off chance that it is not:
Jolie Turns To Porn Star Pal For Catwoman Tips
12 August 2008 4:58 AM, PDT
Angelina Jolie has been asking for advice on taking the role of Catwoman from an unlikely source - porn star Tera Patrick.
The Lara Croft star is said to be keen to sign up for the part if the Catwoman character is resurrected in a future Batman sequel by Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan.
Jolie has even been tipped for the role by Julie Newmar - who played the original feline villain in the 1960s Batman TV series.
And the sexy star has been discussing her possible portrayal of the character with porn star pal Patrick, who is a huge fan of the role, according to New York gossip column PageSix.
A source tells the publication, "They are friends and keep in touch via e-mail. She and Angie have a girl-talk thing going.
"After seeing reports that she'll land the lead role, Jolie asked Patrick what she thought. Tera had such insights into the role that Jolie cracked, 'You should do it!' "

Re: The Joker
I read that Jolie wanted to be Catwoman but I assumed they'd be having a pop at spin-off.
I don't understand Warners or DC; they have Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, The Flash and the like and they dick about with shitty TV spin-offs and ignore cinematic treatment of their properties. Marvel have totally left them in the dust with this stuff.
