The World Cup of Beer
The local bottle shops near me love to do fancy beer promotions for the world cup, usually a mixed six pack featuring beers from different competing nations. Thus, I have taken it upon myself to drink a beer from all 32 countries, and I invite you to join me on my quest. Your job is to help me fill out the 32, by posting your favourite beer from certain countries. This is not an excuse to bitch about how shit budweiser is, by the way. Oh, and any other decent beers, feel free to add them as well.
So far...
Australia: Cooper's Pale Ale
Japan: Asahi
Denmark (I just happen to like Denmark): Carlsberg Elephant
USA: Budweiser
Germany: Bitburger
Mexico: Corona
I'm thinking that Saudi Arabia, Iran, Togo and Angola might prove to be a bit challenging. Help please.

Re: The World Cup of Beer
Togo --Awooyo BB Lager, BB Pils, Eku Bavaria, Guinness (11% African version a.k.a Leg Opener)
Angola --Empresa ( Angolana de Cervejas )
For the two nutjob countrys that ban alcohol , why not try two easily available asian beers Cobra and Kingfisher

Re: The World Cup of Beer
A few Eastern European ones cos they make the best:
Poland - Gotta love Zywiec
Croatia - Karlovacko (nicest beer I have ever tasted)
Czech Republic - Staropramen - not really my cup of tea but by no means shit
A few rare ones:
Trinidad and Tobago - Carib Lager
Ghana - Star Beer
South Korea - Hite Lager

Re: The World Cup of Beer
I was thinking the same thing this morning.
Since the strart of the world cup I have drunk
1 slab of Becks (German)
1 slab of Peroni (Italian )
1 slab of XXXX (Aussie)
and have now just come back with one slab of Amsterdam Mariner (Holland) first impressions are not good ie was cheap and first taste not great Hopefully it will grow on me.

Just skip a continent and nip to Jamaica, where you will find the delights of Red Stripe (which I have championed long and hard as the real Beer of Kings..), plus Jamaica Stout, an 8% concoction that is guaranteed effective relief from constipation, and is particularly pleasant with "Jamaican Woodbines"
Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for the bottom of your lavatory shattering the morning after a case of Jamaican Stout, or for you shitting your insides out.

Re: The World Cup of Beer
Switzerland - Feldschlösschen
Germany - Erdinger Weissbier
Holland - Grolsch
It's a shame that Ireland didn't qualify. The WC is not the same without Guinness!
