Dubai and Liverpool FC
Didn't want to start a new thread but I felt a few things needed clearing up
Just to clarify
Dubai are still very much interested in the club, and there is an offer that is still on the table for both the Americans to take them up on, and has been for a while.
The offer on the table would see both Americans walk away with over £60 million each, and is worth around £500 million in total.
From what I understand, both Hicks and Gillett are holding out for £100 million profit each, which would value the club at over £600 million, taking any deal well over £600 million, nearly £400 million more than the £219 million they paid David Moores and other shareholders for the club last year.
How they value the club at such a price is an absolute mystery to me.
I also cannot fathom exactly how we now find ourselves nearly £400 million in debt, with no new stadium and unable to compete with Manchester City for players.
They seriously need to have a reality check, as the offer on the table to them will not be there forever.

Re: Dubai and Liverpool FC
I can't believe they wouldn't accept that sort of money to sell. Incredible. Surely, they'll be forced to rethink now given the stadium stuff.

Doesn't make it any less true though does it?
I can't understand some of the hostility towards Dubai. They have made an offer that is more then fair and the only reason they haven't bought the club yet is the two greedy fat cunts wanting more.
I don't know what people expect them to do, hold a gun to Hick's head? (chace would be a fine thing like!)

Re: Dubai and Liverpool FC
They are unbelievable, they have put nothing into the club moneywise, no effort to change or make any improvements, have provided no leadership or long term business plan yet want 100 Million each. Maybe they want that much because they know that they will never be let near any other sporting venture ever again as their business reputation is rock bottom.

Re: Dubai and Liverpool FC
Dubai also feel their interest is helping Hicks and Gillett keep the bank happy knowing that they have a buyer in a financial climate like we are in.
I don't know if Andy knows any different but from what im told it is not DIC now but Dubai Holding who are the potential buyers.

Re: Dubai and Liverpool FC
Personally I dont think the deal is on the table anymore not since Man City did their deal. Its only my opinion but I dont see two Dubai companies competing with each other in the PL. They dont tend to compete with each other in other business activities so I cant see the point of having 2 Dubai owned PL teams.
Lets see what happens but I am very depressed
Thanks for the thread starter trying to cheer me up but I just dont see it hapenning

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are different countries mate.
The city thing is a private transaction, absolutely nothing to do with Dubai, the only link in the two deals is the involvement of Amanda Staveley.

If there are other rich arabs out there then no wonder H&G are sitting tight, they know they can always get what DIC are offering.
