Now that I'm realising that Keane ends in a voewl too, I can see the confusion. I was talking about Recoba. I want us to sign Keane. i think he'd be a superb addition.

This is such a non-issue.

On what basis? I think he's pretty suited to the role, he's no slouch, has decent vision and is quite skilful. I just don't like the price being mentioned.

Flop maybe too strong a word but IMO he won't have anywhere near the impact he has had for Spurs. He's a good player, i'm not disputing that. I just think that playing him wide wouldn't suit him. From what i've seen of him he looks to thrive on the freedom he had playing just off a striker. He's able to drop deep, go left, go right and make runs beyond for flicks ons/knock downs. By playing him wide of a three you will be putting the shackles on him, he won't have as much freedom to roam. I've said before (that time it was regarding Villa) that forwards are much more comfortable starting centrally and drifting wider than they are starting wide and moving centrally.

Keane's best position would be where Gerrard is currently playing and i'd be loathed to break us the Gerrard/Torres partnership.

Re: Robert Keane to Liverpool Football Club

Its about being fluid up top, Keane and Stevie could in fact play off him together quite easily.

As regards the price it maybe time to bite the bullet and pay these inflated fees.
The mancs have done it and we have laughed at them and it has come back to bite us up the arse.

I am shifting in my train of thought and think if we want a player bad enough pay it and get him.

I think the word "fluid" is really apt. Gerrard, Keane and Torres as a triangle would be fluidity personified.

I totally disagree. I think Keane thrives on having space. He'll get space off the right or left of Torres where he can make runs, run at defenders, or swap with Gerrard mid-attack.

I think the problem we'd have with Keane is facing 11 men deep and he hasn't the space to exploit.

People said the same about Torres. Keane's got great feet, a good brain and decent vision - he'll be fine (especially with the superb quality he'll be surrounded by).
