Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
I see his plan...
He gets pissed with Tom, and Foster gets pissed with Tommy, maybe over a barbecue at Hicksfork.
Then it turns out Gillett's only pretending to be pissed, whilst he gets the secret documents from Hicks' top drawer.
Then he folds them over a bit, tells Hicks - still pissed - that some Canadiens lads want his autograph - before you know it, Gillett's got control of the club.
And he scarpers before Foster sobers up, thus ridding himself of his annoying son at the same time.

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
Really fucking depressing
It really puts all the shitty transfer threads into perspective
Does it really matter who we buy when the club is being assraped every fucking day by these clowns.
BTW if there friends again I presume Parry doesnt have long left

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
In 2000 years cockroaches will roam the ruins of what was once England, and in a place once known as Anfield, they will be almost the only survivors in the remains of what was once a football stadium. Rick Parry will be with them.
Josemi will be on the photos.

He only said whats already been on the thread mate.
The interviewer mentioned about he has never in 35 years of broadcasting known anything like the response from Gillett's first interview and likewise this time loads of Liverpool fans had contacted the radio station.
Gillett made it clear at the start he was not going to say anything about Liverpool or certainly nothing important.
He said that Gillett and Hicks were communicating better and this would be better for Liverpool Football Club.
When asked if the for sale sign was still outside Anfield he said he wouldnt comment on that and neither would he comment on the new stadium.
That was it they then started on about Gilletts other sporting interests.

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
I'd be surprised if the restored communication is anything but a restoration of basic civility and the absolute need to agree on things like transfers.
Otherwise, as others have said, they'd be shouting it from the rooftops.

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
The thing about the fall out between Hicks and Gillett is a lot of it was blown out of proportion and they have always been on talking terms.
Gillett is right about them two getting along better however meaning its beneficial for Liverpool as they can hopefully sit down and sort out a deal to sell the club.

After a nights sleep and calming down, I'm actually starting to change my initial view and agree with you ther, it probably is for the best that there talking in the short term(transfer funds etc), but long term who knows long term lets hope the 2 of them just agree to sell the club together. Some fuckin mess all the same we're in, Coco must be shitting himself at the moment!

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
Again it maybe clutching at straws but remember a couple of months ago Dubai/DIC saying they were walking away until the two current owners had sorted out their differences.
Just a thought like but the fact the two appear to be patching up their problems could mean they agree to sell.
If everything was rosey and the two were planning of sticking around then Gillett had the chance to end the speculation there and then when asked about the for sale sign.
There is obviously a period of silence from all parties involved in the take over which is why i think Gillett refused to comment on it.
Thats just my view and we may well be stuck with them for a while but you never know.

Re: Gillett on Canadian radio today
"The reaction was so profound that we have to tone it down," he said.
"No, I hadn't [expected the reaction]. It was amazing, notwithstanding that soccer is the leading sport in the world. It was shocking how popular Liverpool is and it did surprise me.
"It was an amazing response. We hold these assets in trust for the fans and have an obligation to the fans and I feel that very strongly, both in Montreal and Liverpool.
"Developments? No, nothing that either I would talk about or be worth talking about but it's fair to say there has been communication between the Hickses and the Gilletts. It has been substantially improved and I believe it will be for the benefit of the club.
"Time is a healer and there were things that happened previously the other way as well, when it took a while for both of us to realise, I think we both realised, that perhaps we weren't communicating very well.
"It is a huge responsibility we have to the fans to do the right thing for the club and I believe the Hickses and the Gilletts are communicating better with us and us better with them. And that'll be better for the club.
"I'm not going to comment on things specifically," he replied when asked if the 'for sale' signs were up at Anfield.
Gillett is looking forward to supporting Benitez during the transfer window.
"All of us are focused on the transfer window coming up and so forth," he stated.
"We want to be ready for that and have adequate resources and good communication with Rafa.
"Our hope is we're making that kind of progress."
When quizzed on Liverpool's performance last term, he replied: "I'd rather the fans make that decision, but the club has a history of winning trophies.
"Any season you don't win one of the trophies we compete for, I suspect, the fans as well as Hicks and Gillett, are disappointed.
"Overall, I thought the team played quite well, particularly beginning and late [season].
"I think they were very representative and Fernando Torres was a wonderful, wonderful selection last summer. The rest of the boys played quite well but we've got to help Rafa try and compete in the chase for The Premier League."
