But most people use stubby holders, not just bogans. Stops your hand from warming up the beer, especially on hot days. Doesn't make too much of a difference on the first two when they're racing down, but by the time you're moving towards double figures and going a bit slower, they do the trick.
I'd only really go for one of these types though.

Problem is that the Aussies are wuss drinkers like the Americans and only get beer in 330ml cans, and every beer holder I've seen is made for these dimensions. Mind you we can take cool hands anyway.

I suppose if I start a thread about beer, there's always gonna be macho-types hanging around telling me to drink cans faster than I can open them, but anyway.... 
If there is something that can prevent my hands from freezing whilst I have a few beers at a party and simultaneously keeping the can cooler for longer, then I'll happily use it.
Yeah, a lot of them do have shitty designs too, but find one with a good design and you're set!
