I don't know where you're getting some of those prices from though mate. JAR for £2M?! Someone is bound to pay about £7/8M for him and I think we could get £5M for Pennant and also about £5M for Benayoun.
That would give us about £35M from player sales:
Crouch - £10M
Carson - £8M
JAR - £7M
Benayoun - £5M
Pennant - £5M
Voronin - £2M
Finnan - £1M
I think we'll have some money to spend apart from sales as well, despite what that article might suggest.

It'd be a miracle if we go that for all of them, more like
Crouch £8m
Carson £5m
JAR £4m
Benayoun - not sold
Pennant - £4m
Voronn - £2m
Finnan - £2m
£25m is still a fair wedge.
That's assuming you can find buyers for them all and you don't have to pay off their wages.

I'd be very disappointed with those prices, myself.

Re: Silva has £14m release clause
It's a buyer's market unfortunately. Riise and Crouch only have a year left on their deals as well. Others are no deemed as failures so their market value is a bit less than what it should be, that's always going to be a problem for us selling players.

You cream dream believers really do need to get a life
Meanwhile back down on planet earth and especially LFC the reality about a negative transfer spend this summer is depressing quite a few fans

If the money could not be found by any other means?
Possibly.
After which the contract on the 4 bastards will be signed!

Pisses me off greatly to see we are so close with a superb manager, great spine of a team and just need a few quality additions to have a title winning team.
Look on the bright side Moores did well out of the deal.

Re: Silva has £14m release clause
spanish press say that Barce want Malouda on the left and will offer Dos Santos who Ten Cate rates as bait, if they fail then they're prepared to offer no more than 20 million euro's for Silva

Has anyone checked on Redcafe to see what they think of him yet?

We should form a rival 'Policy'. Only players who are talked about in a positive light on a Manc forum. The only possible downside would come if they learned of our little plan.

Of course. I go apeshit over every signing if they don't rate him over there. When we were in for Crouch the abuse was so bad I nearly started supporting Arsenal.

Re: Silva has £14m release clause
One obvious question on all this
How is a sale agreed and paid for if both owners arent speaking to each other, presumably if we were to pay a fee over a million or so both owners would have to approve it or does Rick Parry have total carte blanch

Re: Silva has £14m release clause
according to sport.es, Barce are negotiating for Alves, Silva and Hleb. on Silva they reckon he is receptive to the idea and that Valencia will be open to offers, they hope to get the deals done this week

Re: Silva has £14m release clause
I've thought it all along. Barca are going to unveil about 4 or 5 World class players at once. To appease their fans after the season they had.

Yeah of course he will, Messi plays on the right and Silva on the left or the centre... Silva will be replacing Ronaldhino.
