People who lie about transfers
All the transfer silly season makes me think of the amount of people who lie about who we are going to sign. My Dad knew some fella who was one of the groundsmen at Melwood and he had everyone convinced that Des Walker had signed for us in 1990 to replace Hansen for a British record fee. He still hasn't. Dion Dublin, Stuart Pearce and Branco were all at Melwood once according to this guy.
Some lad in our work used to come up with stupid ones because one of his mates was in the academy, said Stephen Glass was signing on a free transfer in 2002 and that we were "nailed on" to get Ballack after Gerrard went to Chelsea apparently this was already done but he ripped up his contract. I also remember the one about Zidane being seen at a city centre hotel.
Anyway, I've just seen Quaresma coming out of the Radisson........

Re: People who lie about transfers
My joy comes from seeing who Everton are linked with.
Riquelme, Joaquin, Owen and Woodgate are the obvious ones that come to mind. Theres got to be more.

On the other hand, when you are in on a lie, it is most awesome.

But when it all comes down to it, it's still a lie.

Re: People who lie about transfers
People who lie about anythig - unless its' to get out of trouble - are pretty fucking pathetic.
I know a lad and he's a habitual liar to the point where when one of his mates confronts him with it, he'll smile as if to say 'it's a fair cop guv!" and I just think, you sad fucking bastard.

Believe it, he's not a mate though this one, he's a mate of a mate who follows him around and gets on my tits, I try and avoid his bullshit wherever possible.

I'd a dream last night were signing Vieri for 5m.
Sunday night we signed Aaron Lennon.
I wish my dreams would get better.

According to Ballague's book, Ballack was lined up as Gerrard's replacement if he did go to Chelsea.

Re: People who lie about transfers
Our kids best mates sisters flatmates auntie has just seen David Villa coming out of Sayers on West Derby Road with 4 iced dinkies and a cheese and ham pastie. He then crossed over to get the 68 bus, obviously planning on stopping in The Cabbage for a pint of mild before walking up to the ground.
*taps nose*
Signing today, obviously, with it being Tuesday.

Remember that one as well was Houllier suppose to have been godfather to one of his kids, and another one of his kids was supposed to have taken the entrance exam to Merchant Taylors school. Must have failed it thats why he went to Madrid instead.
