Re: Ronnie Whelan: "Sack Rafa"

Saying "sack Rafa" is probably wrong at this point, but I think there are plenty of people who have doubts as to whether Rafa is the man to win us the league.

He could be right depends What Rafa does this summer as to whether I will share his point of view

To be fair he doesn't say sack Rafa, just that he doesn't have confidence in him winning the title, and that Mourinho would.

A more sensible Reading approach and some wins over the other three at the top would have taken us close this season.

So it doesn't depend on actual football results then?

I don't have a problem with what he said. I might not agree with him but he's fully entitled to his opinion.

Thought Ronnie was a great player for us. But he really should keep quiet about sacking benitez.

Not even the fact he's making things up that are feintly rediculous?

If people don't have confidence then fair enough. If they base that on the fact Rafa's spent the same as Mourinho then their opinion isn't worth shit.

Most people I know and most people who sit by me at the game want him gone, why should Whelan be any different just because he's an ex-player?

You sit in the Main Stand? Most reds I know over 50 think Tom Hicks is great, what's your point?

You'd expect an ex player to have a bit more insight and tact than your average man in the street, even if they are as thick as Whelan.

Most people I know and sit with love Rafa and want him to stay.

The majority want him out, those who are still salivating over Istanbul and who think football was invented at the same time as the satellite dish are backing him.

I must have missed that survey.

So you want him sacked?

Who would you like to take over taking into account the off field problems and lack of real resources to challenge the big two?

The majority? Do me a favour Dave that's lame even for you.

What do you want?

I want him gone. He had a squad to challenge for the league this season and admitted it himself. The reason we didn't was his constant changing of the team and tactics. He's been here 4 seasons, he isn't going to change.

Surely you must have someone in mind then who will do a better job?

Jose is far too high maintenance to manage us, and won't fancy wheeling and dealing on a small budget.

He is desperate to come here and wanted the job before going to Chelsea.
