Jose obviously wasn't a proven premiership winner before he joined Chelsea, as Rafa wasn't for us. But comparing both records before this, and I'd argue that Rafa's is superior.
The 2 premierships that Jose won were pretty much bought.
And when you have a look at this Wasteful Jose, you'll see that pretty much any manager could win the league with spending like that.

I am suprised that Whelan has come out and said this. I think he has said something like this in the past as well. I think that Whelan still on the payroll for the club for things like tours and stuff like that coz I played footy against him as part of some football package where you go on a tour after playing at the academy. If he is still on the payroll, he wont be next season after this outburst.

in fairness, most great liverpool players from the past are disillusioned with things. this is for two reasons, firstly on the whole with most of them they're annoyed that we aren't winning things and secondly it's a case of "things were better in my day" attitude.

what ronnie is saying is what many of our fans and what many of the fans on here might secretly think.

I personally think rafa should be given more time and the finances to bring in more torres class players which will give us number 19. I do worry though that rafa is already stating his interest in buying players like barry (very good player) instead of looking at top top notch players of gerrard or torres' class which will make all the difference.

A Benzema class player is worth two 12-16 mil signings like Barry and Bentley for the sheer world class impact he will bring in games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U, which is the games we currently struggle most in.
