Team for next season
Reina ("Taylor")

RB (Arbeloa) -- Carra Skrtel Agger Sami -- Aureilio (Insua)

RW (Kuyt) -- Gerrard Masha "Barry" Lucas -- Babel (Yossi)

Torres ( ST )




INS : Barry, Taylor, RB, RW, ST

OUTS : Finnan, Itandje, Xabi, Riise, Pennant, Voronin, Crouch.

This is roughly what I think will happen.
Buy a new Right back (rumoured we've signed Degen, dono how good he is)
New right winger to provide a potent threat from that side (dirks proved he should stay but isnt the complete package)
New striker who will play 2nd fiddle to Torres but pitch in with his fair share of goals.

Do all that and we should challenge on all fronts.

I think that is likely and quite possible depending on the fee's for the players we're selling (Alonso/Crouch/Pennant/Riise/Carson/Guthrie) this can potentially be done for a net spend of 0, those players can play 90 minutes and play most of the season so it makes sense to me, Babel, Yossi and Kuyt to be rotated in and used as subs, though i'd sell Kuyt personally..

i'd like to think it will be close to that

Bentley & Silva wouldn't get forward as nuch as Kuyt & Babel do right now!
Torres would be isolated with your 451. You seriously underrate Babel.
Could be player of the season next year if played in the proper position and given a good run in the team. By proper i mean not stuck out on the wing and not a replacement sole front man for Torres.

Would have him right of a front 3 in a 433, or as 2nd striker to Torres in a 442.

it's not that i dont rate Babel i'm happy to use him i think we need more options and i dont really see many players we can sign so im thinking logically

if he becomes a monster he can have a starting place that's how it should be and someone else will have to sit it out but we're trying to win a league and can't be that patient and tolerant of 60 minutes of doing not much from a starting player, we need more impact and bite. of course, Bentley isnt that great imo but they can share the role and if they're not making an impact be subbed after 60 minutes

Agreed but Bentley would be the back up, not the starter in a 433.
In a 442 both could play - Bentley would be right wing with Babel supporting Torres, which is what i'd like to see next year (sans Bentley as a first choice player of course - we can be realistic, but we needn't be nihilistic!).
