They'll be unrest anyways Liam! always is once silly season arrives which seems to be earlier and earlier every year.
Isnt Rodriguez available on a free? That would be a clever signing and hopefully allow us to buy another attacking player and a full back. I think we will end up spending Ł30-40m this summer, then again we could end up making Ł25m on sales alone.

What I want could be achieved by selling Crouch, Alonso, Carson, Riise and Pennant (even though id prefer to sell Benayoun but I dont think youd have any takers) and buying just any two of the following

RIBERY
SILVA
QUARESMA
MANCINI
BEN ARFA
YOUNG

My team would be

Reina
Carra
Skretl
Agger
Insua
Mascherano
Lucas
Ben Arfa
Gerrard
Ribbery
Torres

I was more wondering about would Bayern let Ribery go at any price?

Agree on Barry only makes sense if Xabi goes, Plessis isn't ready for the big time yet.

I'd like to see Barry and Bentley come in. I'm not sure who we can get at full back because there aren't that many good ones around. Finnan and Aurelio could still do a good job for me though, so I'm not massively worried about that. I think we also need a genuine alternative to Babel on the left, but again, I'm not sure who that would be.

That is almost exactly my idea of the team for next year.

Only slight discussion point would be whether to get a left striker as I am not totally convinced that Babel is ready to be first choice starter.

Feel the extra thrust from Alves & Barry would help us win some tight games & we would not need months to get used to loads of changed players & could keep the good form/shape of the last 3 or 4 months. Also , not too many players with Euro 2008 fatigue.

What I'd like is something along the lines of:

Reina

Alves Carra Agger/Skrtel Aurelio

Mascherano Alonso

Babel/Young Gerrard Young/Babel

Torres

However, I can't see us signing two expensive players, maybe just one a la Torres last summer and one or two other players. I want Alonso to stay but I think he's going so Barry is a good replacement, I can't see us signing Alves and I think we may go a for a wide man as the one big signing, possibly Maxi.

I expect:

Reina

Deggen Carra Agger/Skrtel Aurelio

Mascherano Barry

Maxi/Dirk Gerrard Babel/Maxi

Torres

Or something along those lines. Either way we only need a couple of minor tweaks. The main focus of next season has to be consistency,; get a good start and keep going, picking up points against the rest of the top 4.

Does anyone know if Maxi is on a free by the way?
