Players to be bought for next season under American ownership
Who will we sign after the last game if the two horrible yanks are still in charge?
No money to spend only sales money, I think we will be going for the likes of James Milner,or even the likes of Steve Sidwell.
If DIC come in I'd like to think 2/3 players in the £20m bracket.
Its scary when you think of the yank option.

Re: Players to be bought for next season under American ownership
If the only money we have to spend is funds generated through player sales, then we should just blow the lot on one top class player who can have a similar impact as what Torres did last summer.
If we are looking at cheap as chips options, then forget it. I would rather we kept what we have than spent peanuts on medocre "mish mash" players in the hope that one or two signings will come good.
Very depressing times.

Andy Cole has been released, he scored silly amounts for Utd and is a European Cup winner. I bet Hicks would see that as a major coup!

Is it forum law to have one of these threads every week?

If Gareth Barry is our only "headline" signing, then we can forget about challenging for the title next season.

I agree with most of that. But it looks like its going to be a case of 4 out 4 in if the Yanks stay. Its already started with the swiss right back. Were we are already well covered for in Finnan,Arbeloa,Carra and Stephen Darby who are all better players.
Now most sales raised will know doubt go on Gareth Barry.

Re: Players to be bought for next season under American ownership
Xabi Alonso is a class act, but he needs to get back to the sort of form that we saw in his 1st couple of seasons at the club. He was excellent in the 1st leg against Chelsea & was the best player on the pitch in my opinion, but those sort of performances have been a rarity in the past 18 months. I would be gutted if we sold him unless we got £25m for him and could sign Gareth Barry and a top class play maker who could score 15+ league goals.

I'm sure we wont be totally dissapointed with our transfer activity come September 1st.
This ownership bollocks is ridiculous though, in December DIC were "only days away" according to our reliable sources on here!

I quite like Milner but he's not much of an improvment on what we have.

Re: Players to be bought for next season under American ownership
It is very worrying, there's a £30 million pound payment on the loan Hicks took out to treat himself to the club before any money at all comes in, throw players wages into the mix and i for one can't see any major output on players. Moores and Parry must be ever so proud.

Why have we gone from Bentley to Milner on these forums? Bentley was uninspiring enough wasnt he?

I don't understand the signing of Philip Degen at all. Is he being bought to go straight into the team (if so very risky as he has flattered to deceive at Borrussia Dortmund & has not always played regularly due to injury etc)or as an understudy to another signing at rb ie. Rafinha?

Why would they have to spend. They have pissed us off enough as it is . They are spineless twats so why would they suddenly become generous. We didnt spend much NET last season so why are they suddenly going to give us a shit load this season.

Bentley would be an excellent signing as too would Antonio Valencia, but the latter seems to be on his way to OT and I think we may be priced out of a move for David Bentley.
