Martin Oneill

Is it me or does he have a history of doin this in regards to Barry?in terms of makin it a slangin match and citisizing other clubs behaviour, i just seem to recall him in the past, always kicking up a stink when somebody is interested in one of his players, I think its just his way of gettin a higher fee for his players, I like martin, and ive read many football autobiographies and all his former players love him and say he is an excellent man-manager, which does seem to be the case, and i love his passion on the line, but do i just hate the way he does this because im jealous that we always get ripped of in the transfer market?

Re: Martin Oneill

Martin O'Neill and Mark Hughes by refusing to sell us Bentley and Barry could be doing the club a massive favour. Well done lads.

Re: Martin Oneill

Cretin of a man, lost any remaining respect I had for him - not much to begin with but still - when he came down to the bench for the second half of the reserve game. Complete hypocrite, he criticises us for not conducting our interest in Gareth Barry in the 'Liverpool way', then proceeds to throw his toys out of the pram in the press for the next week making statements every day instead of letting the rumours die down 'til the end of the season. He has also conveniently used our interest in his captain to relieve himself of any blame over the Wigan game.

One great thing to come out of the last week, that tit will never be our manager.

Overrated cunt.

What a surprise Rashid, you're back on ignore, you thread-spamming, agenda-driven, Barsenalona-loving, merchant of drivel.

Re: Martin Oneill

Just a point on O'Neill sitting on the bench for the second half of that game. It wasn't to take over and undermine the reserve manager, it was because of an incident in the directors box that pissed him off to the point where he didn't want to sit in there anymore, so he went down to the bench.

I'm not sure on the details, but I heard that he basically felt Liverpool officials were trying to make him look a cunt, so he left the directors box.

Whether he had good reason for that or not I don't know, but he wasn't going down to the bench to manage the reserve side.

Re: Martin Oneill

I liked O'Neil before the World Cup, but I thought he came across really badly as a pundit on the BBC and I havent liked him since. He was really off with Desailly for no apparent reason and made himself look like a twat. I guess Desailly upset him when he played for Chelsea, I dont know.

I can see us spending over the odds for Barry now. He's worth no more than £8m and if we spend a penny more I will be dissapointed. It would be nice if they would just accept Carson in a straight swap deal, that would represent a good deal for Villa.

Wouldnt the same people who hate the way oneill conducts himself on the line, on the other hand wouldnt you people also like to see a LITTLE bit of passion from Rafa, I certainly would, think its inspiring and rubs off on the players {like jose used to do}, I like to see passion.

Nah Carson's a bit shit, we'd be lucky to get a packet of Rolo's for him.

Re: Martin Oneill

I think if you asked any Villa fan they would rather keep Gareth Barry and not get Carson they would all accept that. I don't know O'Neill has done wrong here, as has been said if another manager/club did this to us there would be numerous threads on here giving off, why would Villa want to sell Barry? They have every right to try and get as much as they, supply and demand.
