Ryan Babel......

I predict that he'll be one of the stars of Euro 2008 and will carry his form into next season.

I really think he can have a fucking blinder next year

The ability is there, and I think the will is also, if he carries on working hard at his game he could be one hell of a player

Re: Ryan Babel......

I can see it myself. It was on the u21 Euro stage where he shone so much last year. He was player of the tournament if i remember correctly. I can definately see him pushing on to another level this summer, outside the hustle and bustle of the premiership.

If he'll play in two summer tournaments running, wont he be a little bit jaded though?

All depends i think on whether he has a good tournament or not

Alot of that stuff is down to mental exhaustion, if he comes back flying you would hope he'd carry it on into the season.

Re: Ryan Babel......

I don't think he will ever do it. He has all the tools to be a world class player but I don't see him ever learning how to use them properly. For me, his decision-making skills haven't improved at all this season.

There, I said it.

Now prove me wrong lad.

I can really see him in the dressing room thinking

"Oh fuck, If I don't play well today that Kaizer bloke from TLW will slaughter me"

Seriously though, I think that there is a chance we'll see a significant improvement next season from him.

Re: Ryan Babel......

I think we need to see a significant improvement if he wants to be regarded as a first team regular. His initial touch is often poor, and often he seems to suffer from a lack of concentration. Must do better, but he has potential.

Definitely needs to improve his decision making as DT says, but the raw materials are there.

Re: Ryan Babel......

I like the look of him. I think the poor concentration is related to fitness a lot of the time. Hence him coming off after about 70 minutes of most games

Re: Ryan Babel......

i think he's gonna be a star.

ten goals in his first season, in a new country, in a new league

from midfield!

and he's only 20

stevie or carra should put an arm round him before each game and just say;

"ryan, your boss, hold your head high, take their players on and shoot on sight, they wont be able to stop ya, they have tony hibbert ffs"

I see where you're comming from with that comment, but I don't agree with you completely. When I see him play I always think that he makes challenges and tries to get past a player because "they tell me I have to try to get past a player more often, and then do thisorthat..". It's like he doesn't go for his own natural instincts but instead tries to please the coaches and be a good student. I still think he will find a midle way in this though, and at one stage will stop thinking too much and just do what fells natural. When he does this though, he will have kept some of the 'good advices' he has picked up over the latest years and combine them with his own soon to be brilliant decision making...

Re: Ryan Babel......

I hope the original post is right, but I can see it taking a bit longer before he finds real consistency. I don't think we'll see the best of him on the left wing either.
