I actually can relate and feel a little bit sorry for the Villa fans here. They obviously love Barry as much as we did Gerrard when he was first linked with Chelsea, and i remember just how sick everyone felt at the prospect of him leaving

No it'll be more like, "We asked all the clubs interested in Gareth Barry to all 5 Million pounds, that way he gets the choice of where he wants to go. As all the others knew that they could'nt compete with the peoples club one of the oldest sporting institutions around so they all bid 12 million"

I think it was andy johnson, when Bolton and someone else were in for him. They asked everyone to bid the same amount!

They said everybody should bid the same to be fair to the player because it was only right that he should be allowed to sign for the club he really wanted.
