Re: Reserve final tonight

Can't believe the short memories of some folk here.
Didn't Rafa cut his managerial teeth in youth and reserve footy with R.Madrid?
He knows the benfits of a reseve team playing the same style as the first team. Why do you think most of the foreign players are guys he brought in, they have the attributes he wants?

He didn't like the coaching method of the youth side so he brought someone else in to run the Academy, this also explains why none of the local or Brit lads have made the first team since Rafa's arrival.

THEY WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH!!!

I don't think pre-season form should be a pre-cursor to team selection in all cases.
If the new player performs better than Torres, then by all means pick him. But I dont believe you will find that player for £5m

Re: Reserve final tonight

Just watched the replay. Pacheco looked good when he came on. San Jose and Darby really stood out though. Big Ron has also vastly improved on last season.

Re: Reserve final tonight

Cheers Rebel enjoyed that some good football played and all three goals had a touch of class about them.
Nemeths being the pick of the bunch.

Re: Reserve final tonight

Nemeth took his goal very well and when you consider that finish was with his weaker foot you realise just how well he took his chance.

Pacheco showed a quick glimpse of what he can do. He has pace and skill and as we witnessed he has an eye for a pass as well.

When we signed Pacheco Barcelona were in uproar as he was regarded as one of their top youngsters coming through and they had extrememly high hopes for him but now he is ours.

Very impressed with the back four. They handled Harewood very well and ive seen epxerienced pros upset by Harewood barging them about so it was great to see the kids handling him and giving it him back.

Eurosport 6pm tonight, Spain vs Republic of Ireland.

Watch this and you'll see how many excellent young players Barcelona actually have, there are about 6 in the Spain team. I know Barcelona were miffed when we got Pacheco but for them there is plenty more where that came from. I'm still baffled as to why Pacheco isn't at the tournament himself. (has probably already been said why but I couldn't find it)

Re: Reserve final tonight

yeah it was impressive, Pacheco looked classy and plays with a lot of self-confidence, he's the kind of player the crowd can get behind and will cheer on, crazy when you think he's 17 and i think he's tailor made for that in behind role with Torres in a few years

Or relentlessly groan when he loses the ball
