Re: City report
Dave, I thought I saw Aurellio go round the pitch with the other players. Cant be sure, maybe it wasnt him, if the players not involved were told they could do as they pleased.

Re: City report
Nice report Dave. Thanks for the seasons write ups, it's the only one I can be arsed to read now.
You walk around the pitch whatever the situation to thank the support. If they were told not to then fine but thats the only reason not to.

Re: City report
Great read Dave and it sort of closes Johns thread about Crouch not been allowed to walk around the pitch.
Like you said any player who wasnt picked for the game can still watch and then say their farewells at the end of it. The fact they didnt either suggests they are staying next season or they just dont give a fuck. Mascherano again was immense. It was a meaningless game yet he played as if it was a cup final. He obviously wanted to help Insua and was always on the the left halping out then next thing he would put a sliding challenge in on the right.

Re: City report
Rafa said on the radio that those not in the squad were free to do whatever they wanted. He said sometimes they go the game, sometimes they stay home and watch on tv, so it's their own choice. I blame him for not picking Crouch over Voronin, but I blame Crouch for not showing up to thank the fans.

Re: City report
agree 100% about the transfers, it's so important, 5 in and 5 out is not going to get us far every year, we need sufficient attacking quality who can play with Gerrard and Torres all season and do so for however many years, eventually winning the title, i've no doubt about it.

Re: City report
Good read there Dave although a couple of unfair assumptions about the players not on the pitch I thought. Guess we'll never know the real story of their absence.
Here's to 2008 \ 09 and keep up the good work.

Re: City report
Good stuff.
Disappointed in more than just Crouch for not coming out and going round. Arbeloa and the rest should of been there and even if JAR and Crouch were fuming they owed it to the fans to say thanks and goodbye. Good point about selling those not here like Leto et al, its our most important summer under Rafa, I seriously hope we get it right as we are'nt far off.

This is the first time I can remember that the players who weren't involved in the 16 weren't on the pitch at the end. Someone said they think they saw Aurelio out there. I didn't see him, but if he was there fair play to him. I just find it really disappointing.

Re: City report
That's extreme, although in an ideal world they'd want to be there anyway in the stands. Torres was there when he was injured, but then that's Torres. And of course, Carra went the game on a Barnes Travel coach and watched the game in the away end with the fans, but he's another exception.

Re: City report
I agree with RedKnight, they should be made to attend. The squad togetherness is something which should be forced upon them.

Re: City report
Another good report Dave. That incident you mentioned with Voronin did my head in too. I was furious. I have defended him a lot, right from the start, but he can fuck off with that attitude. It won't have gone unnoticed by Rafa. Hopefully we can palm him off on some German club (maybe that was Rafa's idea all along and also the reason that he gave him 10 mins on the off chance that he does something ace).
