Re: Mr James Lee Duncan Carragher
Quote:
I watched him yesterday after he took his shot in the second half(which all of us in the kop were praying would go in for him) how he sprinted back to be in position as they counter attacked. Well done he is a very proud man and I am very proud of him. |

Re: Mr James Lee Duncan Carragher
Rash do me a favour, this is not a thread about whether Carra should play right back, centre half or in goal so please, pretty please, leave it alone

Re: Mr James Lee Duncan Carragher
I only mentioned it as part of a reply to someone worried Carra could be out for speaking out.
Another point I'd meant to add but forgot was that Carra might already have decided that if Hicks gets in he's going to leave anyway. Then he can say pretty much anything he wants!

He's a 100% red through and through, its a shame some of you dont realise it or act like he does. He's 1st choice CB because he's our best CB. End of story.

I hope he does, in fact I hope he's able to carry on after he's finished playing. He's a player with a decent brain football wise and if he can carry that into coaching he could be a future manager for us. In fact how he deals personally with the ownership situation is a big clue to how he'd be as a manager. Standing up to owners without going too far is a difficult balance. What I'd hate, and I bet he would too, is a situation where he was being picked every week because he's a good red, rather than a good player. He's only 31, so we should be a few years off that yet, but I hope when the time comes it's recognised, and accepted by us too. Jason McAteer was a good red!

Dont worry, he'll be the 1st to hold up his hand. He'd hate to be picked for sentiment too but he'll be a starter when we move to the new ground, mark my words.

McAteer was used only as an example of how "good red" won't be enough for him to start every game forever. Maybe I should have used Tommy Smith as an example! But anyway this thread wasn't about his future as a player, it was about him going out of his way to put his views out.
