Its not been a bad season to be fair...

Another Champions league semi final and we're aren't exactly miles from the top, just a few draws that really should have been wins.

Torres is amazing, Mascherano is awesome, Gerrard is just Gerrard.

Skrtel looks a good player. Babel has shown promise.

Agger will be back next season too.

Could have been a lot worse with Tonto and the Lone Ranger causing bedlam behind the scenes.

We have a strong spine to our team, but we need to add real quality in the wide areas to take us to the next level. The trouble is while we take 1 step forward, United and Chelsea seem to take 2.

Re: Its not been a bad season to be fair...

Start of the season, all I wanted was the gap to be closed from the top. We have gone from 21 points off to 11, could be 8 or 14 off by this time next week. Great European run. New players have settled extremely well and gives me confidence going into next season. Only downside bar the stupid draws that should have been wins is the fuckers in the boardroom, which I sincerely hope is sorted before the end of the season though I doubt it will be.

7/10 I would say for the season, all things considered.

Re: Its not been a bad season to be fair...

Whilst I think I understand your reasoning, for me personally not winning the league or euro cup equals a bad season.

I am not being conceited or arrogant but for me, we have to keep our standards our mentality if you like, which is based upon "First is everything second is nowhere".

I understand that maybe it’s not as black and white as that and you have to take a lot into consideration when analysing whether the season has been a success, but I’m old school I guess, no league no euro cup I’m pissed off and expect more, quite rightly to being a Liverpool fan

Re: Its not been a bad season to be fair...

Have to agree with Benitez, not a good one but not a bad one either.

11 points, if that's the final difference may as well be 14 or 21 points. Too many points have been dropped because we couldnt finish teams off and let them back in the game. Add in Reading took all 3 off us at their gaff (and they look to be going down) and the stark reality is there.

We have the makings of a good team but we lack that killer touch. Once we find that, Im certain a realistic challenge could be made.

Considering the mayhem of the ownership squabbles, I think we've done pretty well and when we play to our best we are fucking great.

Agree with every word, bar the last sentence. I thought we were 7.1 out of ten for the seasonl...

Spot on.

But still, Spurs had a better season because they won the League cup....( for some anyways )

Where did I once say that? I asked the question do people think they did as they ended up with silverware. We didn't.
