Getting to Moscow

Just been offered 2 tickets for the final and have of course said yes.
Just started to look at how to get there and it is an expensive nightmare.
Anyone already done the rearch to save me a lot of time.

Re: Getting to Moscow

Hotels are the biggest problem. They all seem to be either booked or not releasing rooms yet.

If you can find somewhere they want credit card up front and they won't give you your cash back if you cancel.

When the TLW Massive finally found the right hotel with a proper cancellation policy , the fucking hotel cancelled the booking.

Good luck.

I looked into getting there before I found out that I didn't qualify for a ticket and it's much cheaper going on the train. It takes much longer than flying obviously but I think it would be a brilliant experience.

Have a look at this website;

How to travel by train from London to Moscow & St Petersburg

If the mancs go out tonight a few travel firms might shit it and start selling but I can only find trips for around 1k plus spends plus visas plus ticket. Looking like 2 grand. I dont know if I can swallow that. Plus the grief I will take.

The Mancs going out is the biggest hope of rooms getting freed up for independent travel. Failing that it's going to be a rip-off.

I can still get there for 300 notes, various ways and routes, the problem is the hotels, you wont get a visa unless you stay the night, however the goalposts may move when the slime go out tonight, hotels will become available and me thinks visa rules may be dropped and you match ticket will get you in

Re: Getting to Moscow

I now know I'm not going to be able to afford it either way but I did see a cheap route (165 quid return last I looked a couple of weeks back). Liverpool to Riga with Ryanair and then Riga to Moscow (via Vilnius) with some Lithuanian airline. Can't remember the exact name of it but if you google Riga to Moscow flights then it comes up.

You'd be looking at a Monday to Friday job though if memory serves me right.

That sounds very cheap. I was in Moscow about five years ago, the cheapest western style hotel room I could find was 250 quid. Things might have changed now though.

Can't see how this is possible for less than a grand. And that is by booking today. Looks like all the flights from Riga to moscow have gone.

Try flylal.com mate. Can't remember how the exchange rate works out but there's still flights available.

Re: Getting to Moscow

Get connecting flights, well cheaper. I know a fella has booked to stay in St Petersberg with flights to Moscow day of the game but he loses his deposit if we dont get through, will cost him £360ish I think. Best looking at something like that or flights going through places like Zurich, Berlin etc. You can also get the train in from St Petersberg, Tallin, Budapest, Helsinki. Should keep you busy for a while!

I think the 10A goes to Moscow, or is it St. Petersburg?
