Re: Barry or Bentley ??

Neither. Both good players but not what we need this summer.

If Alonso goes I would use Lucas as his replacement. We have enough central midfielders to cover until we can afford to buy another, if that time comes.

I'd sign Bentley if we were going to play 442 but he wouldn't fit into the 4231 we are currently using (which i think we should keep using next season) as I don't think he's quick enough or would be a big enough goal threat.

I think we should concentrate on other areas, such as full backs and the 'wide forwards' as opposed to central or right midfielders.

Re: Barry or Bentley ??

Neither please

If we sell Alonso I want the money spent on a quality wide player first as that has to be our number one priority this season.

Bentley is defo not the answer, Ashley Young however would be brilliant

If we sell crouch and Xabi and buy young and have money left over for Barry then ok but we must address the qualtiy wide player isssue which we have neglected for the last 4 seasons

Re: Barry or Bentley ??

Barry for me. I didn't rate Bentley at all some months ago, but after watching him closely a fair few games, he has left a good impression. Is he better than Pennant or Kuyt though?

I really rate Barry. I think he's an excellent player with a great touch, vision and left foot. We could use some quality on our set pieces too..

It all depends if Xabi leaves though. He's obviously better than both of them.

Re: Barry or Bentley ??

We will only sign either or both of them if other players are leaving.

Re: Barry or Bentley ??

Barry.

With Aurelio out we are really weak down the left side. Babel is very promising but is still not ready to be a regular starter. We can switch Arbeloa. And that's it for players capable of playing to the standard required.

On the right we've got Finnan, Arbeloa, Dirk, Pennant and Yossi who looks far better on that side.

Assuming money is tight then anyone wanting to strengthen the right side before tackling the left must be watching a different sport to me.
