No I've been genuinely been told it. I wouldn't say it means much though because I've heard a lot of fucking things. But yes my mate says he'd heard this is nailed on, he is the "non english player who speaks good english" Rafa spoke of.

If we were to get one wide player, I'd like to to be Alves. He would bring us the pace and overlapping dynamism that is missing on the right flank. He could also work well with Kuyt, as Alves operates from the fullback position.

This would occasionally leave us exposed, but we need to bear in mind the attacking improvement we'd have. We would also have Mascherano patrolling the area in front of the CB's and he would snuff out the danger when Alves goes on one of his sorties into enemy territory.

If we had the cash Alves is the player i would most like us to sign.

Like you say we can still play with Kuyt but Alves offers so much pace and energy overlapping he would be perfect for our current system.

I like Bentley a lot but I'd only go for him if we got rid of two of our three current right sided midfielders first.

I like Bentley too, but would he and Barry be enough to take us to the next level?

I feel that we need to sign another "match winner" in the Gerrard/Torres class who can score 12-15 league goals a season.

They would take us up in my opinion.

I hate and love the summer transfer madness in equal measure. Luckily im away for most of it so i'll come back in August having missed loads of it.

I actually think Agbonlohor could do a job in the Kuyt position and have said so before, but I don't think it's a popular choice.

I agree, but I think we need more than just Bentley. We need to find another player in addition to Gerrard and Torres who can be a regular goal threat for us.

He would be able to cover for Torres too, I've said it before our squad lacks pace, hopefully Rafa will address that this summer.

I'd go with that. He could play on the right in a 4-2-3-1 formation & he scores and creates goals.

A better all round footballer yes, but Abonghlohor is more of a goal threat and may be better suited to playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation. I like Bentley a lot, but I still think that we would need to sign a player who is a goal threat.
