As for Barry, well, personally I think Young is the only player we should be chasing at that club.

I laud Pennant as a squad player and he is already here.... he should be understudy to whoever we buy for the right. I agree about Young....

But we want to challenge Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney and co... we will need bigger guns than Bentley and Barry.

You sure your appreciation of Tennants isn't due to some laughably spurious personal connection because he once hung around in one of your bredren's "yards" merking out and chillaxing?

Just checking.

Yes I am Rash.

And the difference between us is this: I do it on purpose.

But anyway, next time you see Jermaine in your ends, tell him I said "A-ight"

Re: Jermaine Pennant

His attitude since he joined has been top class however he's got an inferriority complex and is a bit of a shithouse. We can get 6m for him so really we should. I'm struggling to think of a performance anywhere near as good as yesterdays one from him and I cannot , he's played 60+ games too.

Re: Jermaine Pennant

He's run rings round Ashley Cole twice. The problem is though, Dirk is playing so well in that role I'd be reluctant to change it. There is the option of playing either Dirk or Pennant on the left, which I'd be tempted to do as I'd like Babel on the bench in case we need him.

Re: Jermaine Pennant

I'd totally go for it against Chelsea and play Dirk off Torres and Pennant on the right with Mascherano and Gerrad in the middle.

I really don't like the Mascherano Gerrard partnership, doesn't bring the best out of either player, particularly Gerrard, who feels the need to drop deep a pick a pass because Xabi isn't there to do it.

Re: Jermaine Pennant

He's a good option to keep, I'd have him around the squad unless we're badly skint.

Agree with that, we need all our big guns.

There's a time and a place to fuck with a winning and settled system, and the biggest game of the season isn't it.

I'd play Dirk on the left and Pennant on the right. As oyu have rightly said Pennant has done well against Cole when we've played against them. Just like Crouch v's Arsenal, Pennant probably deserves a place given his last performance. His confidence should be sky high. Babel could well be more pivotal as a sub than a starter.

I also have a feeling that Chelsea will waste Essien at right back (scared by Babel's pace) and will play both Mikel & Makelele as holding players to completely nullify Gerrard.

Re: Jermaine Pennant

I like Pennant and I think he has a future with us; his biggest problem has been some people's narrow mindedness and their pre-conceived conceptions.

He has talent he just needs to realise it.

Re: Jermaine Pennant

I don't understand why so many people seem so keen to get rid of a player who's been one of our best attacking players since the turn of last year. He's not top class but he's well worth a place in the squad.

If I thought for one moment that selling him would mean funds would be released for a top class winger then I'd sell him. But until I know what funds are going to be available I'm not in favour of selling any decent players.
