The reds are playing tomorrow? Bugger, and I was so looking foward to seeing who would pick up more injuries and/or cards in tomorrow's 'blockbuster'.

Please don't give us another game like last year's FA Cup final, that was a dead set shocker!

(Same result though, please )

Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

I'd just rest the whole bloody pack of em. Something like:

Itandje
Finnan - Hyypia - Skrtel - Insua
Pennant - Plessis - Lucas - Benayoun
Crouch - Voronin

and keep space on the bench for Nemeth and Spearing, perhaps.

Absolutely NOTHING to be gained (apart from integrity, perhaps) by playing any of the starting XI for Wednesday's game.

I'm looking forward to going down there tomorrow. No matter what XI we put out i'm sure it will send Birmingham down.

At least we can just enjoy the game without having to think about the result. Whatever team he picks i'd go along with especially as Chelsea have to field there best team tomorrow.

Agreed, but I'd play Martin instead of the drunken bum Itandje.

Could be mate ye. I want to see some of the kids given a go but with the Senior Cup final last night that is very unlikely. It will be more or less the team that beat Fulham. I'd give Torres half an hour though, I think he can look slightly rusty when he hasn't played for a while. Just keep him ticking over.

i reckon torres would want to play. he rested last weekend (reina and carra did not) and usually plays consistently good anyway, so it would cause no harm (unless he gets inujured of course)

Plessis and Insua were left out of the reserve team last night, so they will probably play tomorrow.

Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

I would play Torres even if it was just for the first half just to keep him match sharp for Wednesday.

I would say Plessis and Insua will at least make the bench but personally i would start with them in their respective positions to give Mascherano and Riise/Arbeloa a rest.

Well I hope to see them tomorrow then. I reckon Riise might play the Babel role tomorrow in the hope he can get a goal and get Tuesday out of his system. Plus he can give Insua some protection too.

That`s what I think as well. Play Riise to get his focus away from Tuesday. Plessis and Insua should be involved, hopefully Nemeth and Spearing as well.
The reserves play that semi final against Accrington Stanley on Monday, though... i wonder if they`ll keep Nemeth and Spearing back for that one??

Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

Right. We should play Torres so he'll be in superb condition. He should be notify though, not to play so hard that he'll be tired for Wednesday. That's Chelsea's role.

Riise should play too. Get a good grip on the game and forgot about the OG. Knowing Benitez however, it's not possible that he is the only one that asked to play against Birmingham.

Maybe so, but there would be no harm in giving them the last half hour against Birmingham. The adrenelin and confidence they would get out of getting a run out would do them the world of good, although they both played 90 minutes last night so its very very unlikely.
