Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

we're still yet to lose in the league when Lucas has played

I remember last year people were saying the same shit about Masher, he doesnt do enough, whats the point in playing 2 holding midfielders, etc etc.

Good in Brazil? Cheyrou was great in France. What happened there?

Sorry but I think that's pure bullshit, he's had some good games for us and some poor ones. As for poor touch, intelligence and passing, you're miles off. It's his stamina and strength which let him down which is unsurprising coming into the English game from the Brazilian one. He's not been great so far but he's shown enough promise to convince me he can be a good player when he improves his physical attributes.

Looks to have the makings of a good player to me, sometimes players need a season to bed in.

Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

I think its unfair to single Lucas out for criticism today when they were far more experienced players who were equally as poor.

It wasnt a very good team performance today and only Pennant can come out of the game with any sort of pride from his display.

Finnan wont be happy at the part he played in the first goal and does seem to be a player struggling to find form thanks to injuries and rotation.

Riise before been replaced was trying offer width but the same old problems of trying to shoot as soon as he passes the halfway line and although he was only on for half an hour Insua used the ball a lot better.

In midfield Lucas and Plessis were well over run and both struggled throughout the game. Understandable when you look at their age and experience but their times will come and hopefully they will feature in our last two league games of the season.

Benayoun improved in the second half when he went more central but still was on the outside of the game looking in too much for me. He is a squad player and nothing more.

Crouch and Voronin were fucking gash today. They both played in the last game against Fulham and were gash then and hopefully neither of them will be playing for Liverpool next season.

Its a shame for Crouch because he can offer so much more for Liverpool but his head just isnt in the game and it seems to me that he is off.

Pennant was superb today. No-one can question the lads attitude as he has done everything to try and keep in Rafas plans. He has asked to play in the ressies to keep his match fitness and performed well there as well.

Personally i'd offload both Pennant and Benayoun if it meant bringing in one quality player on the right.

As for Dirk and Babel. You can't really knock Dirk too much because of his effort, workrate sheer willingness to do everything for the team cause. He's scored some important goals recently and his performances have been much improved too. However for 75% of the season he's been poor and not good enough. If we are to really progress he needs to become more squad player than a regualr starter. Bable has hige potential - we've mostly seen it when he's come fromt he bench or in 10-15 bursts. Still not quite sure what his position will end up being but he's got huge promise IMO
Has been for years ..

Re: Birmingham - Liverpool

Does anyone mind that crouch hasnt played particularly well in the past two games but scored twice? could say 3 in 3 if you count the last prem game he started aswell (arsenal away)

is he simply advertising himself in the shop window? or maybe he is adjusting his game to score more goals. I see him drop deep to much where as he has been in or around the box for the three goals he scored. Lets hope he signs a new deal unless we get 10m plus for him.
