6 Months Jail for this....

I know it is in fricky dicky Swiss German, but here's the crack, this is from the Dutch league last week i think, the guy who makes the challange in the clip got send down for 6 months because of it.

http://www.20min.ch/sport/fussball/story/14528833

According to the story the Dutch FA have sent him down as an example, showing that they won't take these kind of challanges anymore, and a repeat will be the same jail term.... Now i know it was a bad tackle and all that but come on, 6 months..... what the fucks going on?!?!?!

Re: 6 Months Jail for this....

I think it happened in 2004. I actually think this is a good thing. That tackle is maybe the worst I've ever seen in my life... if you can call it a tackle. Violence should not be allowed just because it is on a football pitch.

Re: 6 Months Jail for this....

Kind of correct AvB.
But it's almost impossible to state whether or not there was deliberate intent.
But there have been instances where players have even admitted to wanting to hurt somebody.
Roy Keane for example should have been jailed for several years for what he did to Haarland. He fully admitted that he went out to break his leg and end his career, the fuckin horrible, horrible cunt.
If I approached any of you lot on the street and deliberately broke your leg (and believe me, with some of you it's tempting!) and then came clean and admitted it, then I'd fully expect to be sent down for it, and quite rightly so.
Football seems to have seperate rules than the rest of life. That shit aint right.

Spot on mate. Its seems that if its done in sport then its okay. Keane is the obvious example and he has the audacity to come and almost brag about it in his book!

To be fair to the majority though, most of the time there is just a split second difference from making a brilliant tackle and breaking someones leg.

It happened in 2004, and it was 6 months suspended.

The guy who got tackled was forced to retire through injury.

The player making the tackle currently plays for Wigan.

Re: 6 Months Jail for this....

Is that Rachid Bouaouzan, did Wigan not sign him last summer ?

Im presuming hes gone in the January transfer window.

Whilst thats a bad challenge, I agree with Dave in saying I have seen many worse than that.

The fella who was tackled never played again. Of course everyone has seen worse, but does it mean we should accept potentially career ending tackles like that one? I say he got exactly what he deserved.

Btw, he got 6 months but he didn't have to do his time. I don't know what it's called in English-English but I think it's what the Americans call probation.

Re: 6 Months Jail for this....

Bad bad tackle but 6 months. If thats the case Keane should still be in prison. Vinny Jones should be on death row.

Apart from he actually didn't say that he went to break his leg or end his career. Nor did he end his career. He said he's been waiting to hit him and did; not that anyone cares for the facts of the matter. Apparently.

He admitted he went out to hurt him and he did in effect end his career.
Should`ve been suspended for a fucking season for that.

I thought he retired because of a problem with his other knee?

I think so too, but I`m pretty sure he got that injury in the same tackle.
Either way, if he broke Haalands leg or not, or if he injured his knee or not he should`ve gotten a longer suspension for that.
