Challange for Wednesday

I would like to think we have the class that regardless of win lose or draw we can Let Frank Lampard and family know

That LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB CARES

That would make me Proud to be a Scouser and show the world that regardless of the troubles at our club

It is still the Best club in the world by a country mile

So for those lucky enough to get a ticket to go do the right thing

Re: Challange for Wednesday

I'm not going to the game, but I don't think we should use the death of someone unconnected to the club to enhance the status of Liverpool FC. I agree with RiS on the other thread that observing a minute of silence, if there is one, is the best way.

a banner maybe,

that should be enough. lets not forget that the lads going the game are there to support the reds.

because a banner is enough. we don't need to go all out writing songs to support a rival.

i know its probably the worst thing ever to lose your mum but it's fuck all to do with us. it's fuck all to do with the chelsea fans, it's the lampards business.

at the end of the day i want to win the cup. we all understand how frank will be feeling but it's not our fault. the lads are going to support the reds, hopefully to a good win.

the main point here is not to single fatty out and give him condolences or anything. give it to the lampard family as a whole.

Re: Challange for Wednesday

I very much doubt that they would have a minutes silence before this game. If he plays then I hope he doesn't get targeted by the crowd etc, but to suggest making a banner or a song or something else is way OTT

Re: Challange for Wednesday

a minutes silence is unlikely. chelsea have been on the website begging for an atmosphere and the minutes silence kills it. a minutes applause like for best was the way to do it. if anything.

Re: Challange for Wednesday

I'm surprised this death has had such a reaction on this forum.

Was there the same amount of support shown to Dirk Kuyt (one of our own) when his dad died ?.

Why would there be a minutes silence on Wednesday?. Am I mistaken or do they not plat Man U at the weekend. If Chelsea FC want to show their respect let them do it then.
To be honest I think the whole minutes silence idea is a bit over OTT.

Be assured that if Frank plays on Wednesday it wont be out of anything else other than his desire to knock us out of the CL. The same reason he played on Tuesday.

Very good point indeed. I am only thinking of next wednesday, I forgot there was a match in between.

your right, nothing was mentioned really in the press and not that much on here. just leave it to chelsea to do there bit for the family and lets support our team on wednesday instead of discussing franks mother

Re: Challange for Wednesday

It would make me even more proud to be a Liverpool-supporter if those going to the game did something in the lines of robbief's banner suggestion. We all "hate" Lampard, but this is a good time to keep footy issues and "real life" issues separated. I really feel for Frank Lampard in the situation he is in now, and to demonstrate that in times like these we are all fellow human beings would make a difference.

Edit:
It is of course important to say that we (or those going) should do this to support Frank Lampard, not to add to our own reputation. The latter is a very wrong focus and motive in my opinion.

Those people lucky enough to have a thicket for Wednesday should focus on putting all their efforts into supporting LFC and nothing else.

I hope SG doesnt let it affect his game as I'm sure it wont affect Franks if he plays.

Re: Challange for Wednesday

Couple of points:

The main thing will be to get behind the lads. But no reason not to show sympathy first.

A banner would show great respect and class. Just as we did for Gary MaC's wife with the chants.

I would expect something at the Man U game and then really CFC to move on. Hope Man Ure have learnt from the class of their cousins at MCFC and the Munich tribute

I recall when Kevin K's father died on the eve of a match at OT they sang some pretty horrible stuff at him (nothing changes and might also explain why KK hates them so much), so would not hold out that much hope.

All the more reason to show we have class

Making one banner is enough. It won't affect their supporting efforts towards the team.
