We beat them at the Nou Camp last season and it was a case of, 'oh well', whereas if the Mancs win it will the greatest performance ever. It's so fucking blatant it's untrue.

Ian, we were the pariah city of the 1980s, couple that with the fact that we are the most successful club in the country and you have the perfect ingredients for a strong disliking. What was it John Mccririck said about Liverpool being the most undeserving city to have the world's greatest horse race?

Throw in the lies and mistruths peddled about Hillsborough, plus the Heysel incident and you have a situation that cultivates a bias and a prejudice. Gotta love the difference in Andy Gray's tones toward the way United are playing and how he is when we play.

That's not what he said exactly. He said that they were clubs of similar background and European pedigree and I thought, yeah you are. You're both shite teams who've only managed to win Europe's biggest cup twice each with vast resources.
