Re: redemption or hang him out to dry?

We start him on the basis of whether he'll fit the tactical plans or not.

Rafa doesn't give a fuck whether he scored that goal or not- If he plays him it'll be because Rafa thinks he can do whatever job the left-back will have for the night.

Re: redemption or hang him out to dry?

start him but get rid in the summer. and not because of the own goal, because he hasnt been playing and obviously rafa doesnt rate him as much as aurelio

Re: redemption or hang him out to dry?

I wouldn't hang him for it but I wouldn't start him either because he will trying too hard and when he came on our defence was stretched when riise was caught up field.

If Aurelio is out play Arbeloa left back (he wasn't much better last night in my opinion)

let the team work for each other and right the wrong.

Do it for Riise.

Re: redemption or hang him out to dry?

A professional footballer that's so one footed that he had to contort his body to try and head a ball away that any normal human been would have just waved a right foot at, stick it out for a throw and the games over. Fucking laughable.

Re: redemption or hang him out to dry?

My real concern there is that anyone other than Riise would have wellied that up the pitch with their right foot. What Riise did was a ludicrous decision which could end up really costing us.

Useless.
Finnan right back, Arbeloa left back.

Was utter gash for the entire time he spent on the pitch.

O.k, he's very left footed, but surely he could have swung at it with his right and got it clear? He's been piss poor all season and moments like that just compound his shitness.

If he spent more on his dinners at Melwood he might be better with his right. What was it, £12.50 a week? Tight cunt.

Re: As much as I have slagged JAR off....

he didnt even have to hoof it he could of just put it out with his right but once he makes the decision to go down its only going in one place.

he didnt mean it but he's still an idiot for attempting such a ludicrous clearance in the 1st place.

Re: As much as I have slagged JAR off....

I apologise for any insults I said last night cause I was pissed/angry, but I still think Riise is a cunt. Not just cause of the own goal either, just a combination of things. This just takes the biscuit though.

!00% correct, he's fuckin useless, even own goal aside which as more than likely cost us the tie b4 his moment of madness Grant must have been thinking how the fuck will we score 2 against these at home while not given 1 away now he has just got the chavs to do what they do best defend a lead!he was given the ball away then a pathetic effort at goal which was more of a pass back, i hate the cunt, he's still living off his past glories and should be shipped out.

Re: As much as I have slagged JAR off....

Mammoth error, largely due to his inability to kick a ball with his right foot, but he should be forgiven. I won't shed too many tears if/when he's moved on, but you can only imagine how he was feeling after.

If he's got balls of steel, he'll be asking his colleagues how an isolated oppostion player stuck out by the corner flag, surrounded by 3 or 4 defending players, managed to get such a dangerous ball into the box.

Re: As much as I have slagged JAR off....

Riise was crap prior to the mistake- not completely coincidence that Chelsea's best period came after the enforced subsitution. His tactical awareness was zero- he pressed to high and sold himself (counted 2-3 times he did that and Chelsea immediately attacked the huge gaping hole behind him) and also gave them the ball trying to score with a shot from miles away when keeping posession was everyone elses main concern.

Re: As much as I have slagged JAR off....

Oh yeah- bench him in the second game
Arbeloa can do the job on the left and Finnan on the right.
