Re: Michael Owen...

We should pull out all the stops to buy him in the summer, forget the new stadium spend the money on owen, with both him and Kewell in the team we'll be an unstopable force, and our Physio department will finally start earning their wages...those damn lazy physios

He was a very good player and was paid accordingly. He lied to deliberately run his contract down and cost us money. He did this to hold the power when he left. That's his choice but don't expect me to not think he's a dick for doing it.
Very well said.

Seen that myself, quite funny watching him squirm out of it.
The least he could do for the astronomical amount of money them soft cunts have paid him is to stay there and stay the fuck away from us.

fuck it i'm off the fence!

He's not finished as a goal scorer, he'll still bang them away, but he's a shell of the explosive, exciting Owen we knew him as. Torres fits the mould perfectly, just like the young Owen, only better.

Well at 27 an hamstring injuries early on in his career (because we played him week in, week out without resting his developing body), he's hardly likely to be 'explosive.' I remember people saying when Owen lost his pace he'd be finished.

Owen and Torres would be lethal, but, we all know it aint going to happen.

Re: Michael Owen...

Yesterday was the first time I thought to myself that we don't really need him. Let him go and have his barcode days without trophies. Strange to say on a day he scores two goals maybe, but I don't think he has anything to offer that would make our team better. He wouldn't fit in and he's not the same and will never be.

I don't think Torres suits having a partner. I used to hanker for Torres and Crouch to be given a run of games together but now I like him on his own up front to be honest and his best performances have come in that role on his own. He played it at Atl Madrid for years before coming here and I think that suits him best.

Owen andCrouch would be better suited than Owen and Torres I feel.

Re: Michael Owen...

infantile and ridiculous. the only way owen can come back is in a swap with jordi brouwer and a large cheque from newcastle plus they underwrite his wages while he is out injured.

Jerry St. Clair is an unknown quantity
Re: Michael Owen...

I'll never forget him for the all his goals at Cardiff, his league goals against the mancs, the goals in Rome and his professionalism. He thought the grass would be greener in Spain and he won't be the last Liverpool player to make that choice but I prefer to think of the good things he did for the club as they by far outnumber the bad. At 27 years of age and a summers rest in store I would be delighted if we signed him for anything around £5m.

He's 28 and will be turning 29 this year.

I'm not the bitterest Liverpool fan when it comes to Owen, but he owes Newcastle fans more than that dismissive interview after the game.

Basically, I think he's a selfish cunt. And I'm very grateful that he'll only be remembered as a Fowler-Torres interlude...
What did he say, I miss all this with us not getting the post match interviews and shit.
