Chelsea to make new bid for Gerrard

The Times is usually good for sport but this Joe Lovejoy does'nt half write some crap, only a few weeks ago he was predicting the blue noses would finish ahead of us in 4th.

To be fair, those comments from grant are pretty inflammatory.

Just the London press trying to undermine us before a big game. Suprise Suprise.

Not worried about Grant's comments, he's just stating the obvious. SG is world-class.

Absolutely.

In fact, old Baron Greenback seems to always fan the flames of transfer rumour, like he did with Anelka in January. Tosser.

I agree it's something of a red herring, but you can't blame the press for writing that story based on what he's said. Are they supposed to ignore it?

"The London press" - now what kind of paranoia is that???

Whatever, Gerrard will go nowhere (and CERTAINLY not Chelski) for the time being. If he does ever leave, and it could happen, although probably not for a couple of years at least, it'll be Spain or Italy.

Hope it never happens, but if it does we'll get over it. In the meantime, I think there are real issues to worry about at the club.

appalled by the boardroom feud at Anfield and what the chief executive, Rick Parry, has called the washing of dirty linen in public.
And yet he's willing to a join a club that sacked a world class manager in mid-season and replaced him with a clown who's feuded with several of the club's most senior players. That makes alot of sense.

Could be, but just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Anyone would think we were playing Chelsea on Tuesday and the press were trying to unsettle us.

Re: Chelsea to make new bid for Gerrard

There was a chance at one time that Gerrard may have played for Mourinho, but Chelsea are a totally different prospect and with Grant they can't attract players of that calibre anymore.

If Rijkaard takes charge then thats a different story.

However Grant is clearly off his tits as he was on about Kaka and Messi yesterday!

Gerrard almost joined Chelsea in June 2004 for £20m, and again 12 months later, for £32m, after the Anfield captain reacted to the interest by submitting a transfer request. He changed his mind only after his family received death threats and a fan burned his replica shirt live on Sky TV.
Wtf? This was never proven as the real reason Gerrard stayed. Stevie should sue.
