Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

We need to stick with the 4-2-3-1 that we started using to great effect against Chelsea away in the league, with Torres up front and Babel-Gerrard-Kuyt behind him. We've got better at it since then, they've got worse ...

Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

Chelsea will fear Torres as they tried the alehouse tactics on him last time they played at Anfield and it didnt work.

Get at them from the word go and they will buckle.

Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

we can hopefully get this done and dusted at anfield, i cant see chelsea doing what arsenal done to us in them first 25mins at any point in the game, theyre man of the moment essien is out and chelsea are playing shite at the moment plus im not sure theyve got it mentally against us now ,especially if we go 1 up early i can see them crumbling.

We are going to win.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force. It was as if thousands of Chelsea fans waved little plastic flags all at once and then were suddenly silenced. I fear something fucking excellent will happen.

They are pure shit at the moment, there for the taking.
Rafa won't change his policy concerning European games so its got to be a big win in Anfield and shut up shop for away leg.
Even though big guns will be back for Russians,Drog's mind in on transfer away, chief will kick the ankles off Bollock and Lamps is a fat fuck

The scene:
Stamford Bridge.

John Terry trudging off the pitch crying like a little girl as LFC players and fans celebrate another CL final appearance.
He walks past Rafa.

Terry: "I don't believe it"

Rafa: "That, is why you failed"

Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

these games are the ones u have to be very carefull in, i think chelsea have been very poor lately and no doubt rafa and the boys will think the same and will be very confident of winning at anfield, and at stamford bridge,
saying that, chelsea have an annoying habit of scrapeing results,
however...
i think we will be firm favourites 4 once against them, and im confident we will win 3-0

Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

I don't think we're firm favourites and I don't think we will shit them either. We can beat them, though. We are more than capable of beating them, I'm often wary of being overly confident but, in a sense, I suppose it's an indicator of how far we've progressed, people now have a deep rooted belief in our ability to win rather than a deep rooted sense of hope.

Thats a good point that Dirk. I often think of big games now against the best of Europe or the 'top 3' over here and almost expect us to win. That's how far we've come under Rafa. I remember European nights under Houllier where you were just praying to get some luck and not get rolled over Valencia style every match.

Re: Chelsea - Champions League semi

Dirk excellent post matey.

The turmoil at our club needs to be set aside until we get through.

These pair of loopers need to be ignored and let the men who matter do their work.

Everyone talks about the twelfth man the fans can turn this game into thirteen v eleven we're that good.

The only thing that worries me slightly is Chelsea know what to expect from our crowd having played two semi's against us at Anfield already. The only difference this time is we're at home first and can go for broke away at Shitford Bridge.
