I see it a bit differently. I feel Gillett supports Parry primarily because Parry is a vote against Hicks on the board.

If Gillett was sole owner and planned to be here for the long haul, I'm sure he would look much more closely at the working relationship between Rafa and Parry, and if necessary, ship Parry out. This is conjecture, but it's my take on things.

What we do know is that Gillett wants to sell up. Keeping Parry around helps him towards that end as it makes things more difficult for Hicks and hopefully (though we'll have to see) will open the way up for DIC.

I have heard that Parry is staying when DIV take over. Don't know for how long or if it's permanent.

Div? Are you buying us Rash? I'd have thought the first thing you'd do is sack Parry, so I reckon that story is bollocks.

Re: Boardroom unrest - all media articles in here...

If DIC were to buy 50% then Parry will remain as he is an extra vote in the boardroom.

If DIC were to buy 100% of the club then Parry would stay short term but DIC are not happy in the role both Parry and Moores played when DIC first approached the club.

Under DIC there will be no 'honorary life president' that is for sure.

Re: Boardroom unrest - all media articles in here...

I could see Parry staying on if DIC buy us, at least in the short term. This could be as some sort of thanks for helping to oust the current owners. Obviously Parry would then be under pressure to up his performance in order to stay on longer, since DIC will have a thorough review of the club from top to bottom and will bring their own people in where we are not currently up to scratch.

Parry Speaks.

Quote:
NEWS STORY
PARRY DISMISSES NEWSPAPER CLAIMS
Paul Eaton 19 April 2008

Rick Parry today rejected claims in The Times newspaper that Liverpool would be forced to sell Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel. "The story in Friday's Times newspaper was garbage," said the Reds' chief executive.

"I want to make it clear in the simplest and most straightforward terms that the purchases of Fernando and Ryan were funded in the same way as every other transfer.

"The scope for any other interpretation is nil."
