If I had to choose a winner, it would be the Celts. Not really bothered either way though!

Never know. If Celtic win the pressure could get to Rangers and don't forget they're still fighting on four fronts.

3 fronts mate.

League cups already been won.

Tonights result only ensures that the chase for the title lasts a few weeks longer.Prolonging the agony if you like.

Re: The Old Firm

Why do many Liverpool fans have some strange allegiance to Rangers or Celtic??
I've never understood it. Where does it stem from?
At the end of the day they're both just shit teams, playing in a shit league in another country. Why not get behind fucking Livorno or Cagliari or someone like that as well?

It's just really, really weird.

Please explain yourselves. I'm not having a go, I just really don't understand it. So what's the score?

Its sectarian Tom.

A lot of the lads posting on here are irish/northern irish so thats were that stems from and Liverpool is one of the most sectarian if not the most sectarian after Glasgow historically so thats were that comes from too.

Also, Liverpool were formed by members of the lodge so im sure thats a reason for some too.

Re: The Old Firm

Cheers WR.

Ok, so of those on here who do have an allegiance to Rangers or Celtic due to either Catholic or Protestant leanings, or any Ranger or Celtic fans you may know, how many of you/them actually go to church or actively practice or promote religion outside of football?

Again, I'm not having a go, I just want to understand what drives this hatred. Is it really a religious argument, or is it reallu just used as a convenient front and an excellent excuse to promote hatred, bile and even violence? I very much suspect it's the latter, but I'm willing to be corrected.

Also, I don't know of a single Liverpool fan or Everton fan who supports LFC or EFC because of what religion they are.
