Re: Away Game Tickets.
I have a nightmare getting tickets,im in the Army dont know what im doing 1 week from the next half the time,n based down South,so cant really pre plan what matches I go 2.Aint got the patience 2 sit n ring up,ever done it?? takes the piss! U can sit there 4 20mins on it n just get cut off all of a sudden.Window sales would suit me down 2 the ground!! Dont mind queing, used 2 do it as a nipper 2 get onto the Kop n it sort of adds 2 the build up.The club would never do it though 4 obvious reasons. I have 2 rely on mates etc get let down half the time, sometimes when ive got down 2 the ground/last minute n I will admit, this is when I see your day tripper/OTT (which u can spot a mile off) going in and get pissed off.U could argue they got as much right 2 go the match as me etc,but ive got mates who used 2 go the match with me as a nipper, stand on the Kop every match who stopped going years ago.mainly due 2 price, but would'nt mind going the odd match, they aint really got a clue how 2 get tickets n get baffled n put off when I try n explain.Would it hurt that much 2 put a few thousand a game on window sales???

Re: Away Game Tickets.
I think they should have all tickets not taken up by season ticket holders should be sold at the window a few days before the games. Then the proper fans would have more of a chance of getting a ticket.
Ive got nothing against OOTers but this situation is getting ridiculous. You hardly hear a scouse accent at the match anymore

Re: Away Game Tickets.
Al, what would you do if you were on holiday in Rio, Madrid, Milan, Munich or Barcelona and got offered a ticket to go the match, would you turn it down because you think daytippers shouldn't be allowed to go? I went to a Boca-River Plate game and had to pay a tout in our hotel £45 for a ticket, not many Argentinians could afford that but I knew I had to go because of the whole experience of the game otherwise I would kick myself that I'd missed out.
The fact is we only have 44000 at Anfield so many people will miss out, IF we ever get a new stadium I may be able to get a season ticket and go regularly as I want to, I have to ring for the General Sale or beg for spares off people on here, I won't pay a tout 150 quid for a ticket in the Kop but I don't blame people for travelling from random places to watch us. My brother annoys me, his mate is a partner in a firm of solicitors who have 4 season tickets but only his mate goes, leaving 3 spares, he always gets to go for nothing and goes to all the CL games because the partners are too busy to go. My brother sits there al game and never says a word, he just about claps when we score. He'd never queue up in the pissing rain for a ticket for Chelsea semi final never mind Bolton at home, he's never been to any pubs round the ground in his life and never been to an away game. His mates partners in the firm are not interested in the slightest in football but only use it as a plaything to entertain clients every now and again, they don't give a fuck about Liverpool but take 4 places up in the ground. They are local but you can't class them as more of a fan than someone who gets up at 6am every home game and travels miles to see us.

I'm bored Klytus, what plaything can you offer me today? - Mr Hicks, there is an obscure soccer team in England, it's inhabitants are known as Scousers. Last edited by Doctor Troy : 14th April 2008 at 07:28 PM. |

I used to watch the Onedin Line on public television and also this program called Soccer Made in West Germany and Monty Python. PBS Channel WNPI-WNPE from Watertown, New York. Actually went there on my honeymoon (we was poor) and the televison station is on Arsenal Street, right across from a Taco Bell, which was a delicacy for a Canadian boy of 24 back in the days before the North Amercian Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Also smuggled back 24 glorious bottle of Genessee Cream Ale. Those were the days my freinds.... So, because the Onedin Line was based in Liverpool, because Didi Hamann was born in West Germany it's 2-0 LFC with the Watertown telly station clawing one back for Arsenal. And that's why I'm a Red.

Re: Away Game Tickets.
I am an OOT, very occassional day tripper (tickets expensive and very difficult to get!) I have been to only one game this season, only one away in my life. I have supported this team for 20 - odd years now and will not be told by anyone that I am not a proper fan. Why should Anfield be full of Scousers singing about Scousers when there is only 2 Scousers on the pitch.
The worst possible day to get dragged into this shit but had to make my point. And yes, I would follow Liverpool in a lower division. Rant over. |
