LIVERPOOL FC life president David Moores has opened his heart to the ECHO to tell of his personal devastation at the crisis engulfing Anfield.

In a rare interview, to be published in Saturday's ECHO, the former club owner spoke of his heartbreak over the civil war between co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Moores sold the club to the Americans little over a year ago, having rebuffed Dubai International Capital, who were originally lined up to buy the club.

The Americans have fallen out over a series of controversies, with Dallas-based Hicks now having called for the resignation of chief executive Rick Parry, with whom Moores worked closely for almost a decade.

Well we'll have to see what he has to say, but personally I can't imagine anything he can say is going to aid us on or off the pitch right now. Even if he says "i dropped a bollock and hicks is a cunt i want to set on fire", it's not going to help us is it? So in the days between the arsenal game and Blackburn, when we should be buzzing and trying to build some momentum at the club, we've had hicks, then gillett and now moores dominating the news. If Moores had something to say, he should have come out with it long ago.

Finally! Im glad Moores has now chosen to speak. We need as much negative press and pressure against Hicks as possible. I personally dont share the hatred that many have for Moores. I honestly think his decisions where made with the club at heart, as flawed as they have proved to be in hindsight. Its clear this situation will be killing him.

I agree but if he says the right things he might finally educate our sky fans and galvanize the support on mass.

Do you think he'll say anything that will do that? I really hope you are right. But all I see hear is "well you've had a go a my mate, so i'll say something now".

when the club was getting saddled with hundreds of millions of debt, he said fuck all. when his mates job is threatened, he can't wait to give his point of view. Perhaps if he'd have opened his gob 2 months ago, it might have been the tipping point to warn RBS off from loaning G&H the money they needed, saddling the club with debt and those two for at least another 18 months.

My take on it exactly. It's taken Hicks to have a public pop at Parry for Moores to finally open his gob.

and i can't help but think the real source of all this current friction is the ticket situation from the arsenal game. its nothing to do with LFC, parry being a bad CEO, hicks being a cunt, gillett being a sneaky fuck or moores being a nobody .. it's all down to parry and hicks clashing over tickets.
