The Bitters!?
Are they getting worse? Was on a diffent (mixed) Sports forum before that im a reguler on,the resident bitter on there (who im allways having murder with) after reminising about the old friendly Derbys and telling the rest of the Forum about us being in same Pubs, being mates, familys split etc came in the post rubbishing it all.Starts bragging about the trouble down County Road after the match and between the Blob Shop and Withers in Town. He's a cunt of the highest order! Who brags about reading the Sun n 'Murderer' n Hysel gets brought up in allmost any arguement. He's a season ticket holder and I know a few bitters who are'nt like this, but are noticing a few others who are getting as bad as the twat mentiond.

Re: The Bitters!?
I never had a problem with them tbh, about 10 years ago used 2 enjoy a bit of banter,I did'nt like them but I did'nt hate them. Now I find myself really despising them, but I put this down 2 the Hysel n murderer shite they come out with. Also sinse when did they start reading the Sun? I know of 2 who do,and word has it that there sales have gone up on Merseyside recently, dont know how much truth is in that?

Re: The Bitters!?
i don't think its that bad. i have about 6/7 blushite mates and all are reasonable. I fact all of them expect to get beat on sunday and all of them reckon they'll finish 5th or 6th and that they've over- achieved this year. They'll never give us any praise but at least they'll not come out with inferiority heysel complex.

Fucking hate them, there are about 2/3 I know who are ok but the rest are more arsed about Liverpool than their own team so fuck the lot of them.

Re: The Bitters!?
I had 2 split something up in my local, Derby day a few years ago after the match,6 0r 7 blokes ready 2 twat each other, told them they were being daft and that were all Scousers at the end of the day.Thats the anoying part 4 me Scousers fighting with Scousers. The bitters who kicked off that time are in the Pub every time were on the tele so im told,if we win they finish up and leave,if we lose there on the wind up all night!

Re: The Bitters!?
Most of my Bluenose mates are sound. Two of them came to Istanbul with us and when we met up with them after the game they seemed genuinely happy that we were so chuffed. They said that night in Istanbul was one of the best nights out they have ever had. I've got one or two mates who cant be reasoned with and are cunts when they start on about their team but on the whole my bitter mates are OK.

Re: The Bitters!?
Obviously not in Liverpool but the bitters I know (who are mostly scousers) are sound. Its the scummers I know who are the complete arseholes, all but one of them don't come from Manchester!

All my birds family are blues, her dads sound hes quite knowlegable about footy. but her brothers gradually get worse, the youngest is a prick. I think the majority of young blues would rather liverpool lose than everton win.

Re: The Bitters!?
our pub is sound if your local. its a really cliquey kind of place but if your in your in with everyone. one off 'visitors' aren't really made an effort with.
we have blues and reds with about an even split. the blues all know that its a liverpool pub but we don't shout them down or anything, we let them watch their games aswell. anyway last derby, we all packed in as usual, reds blues and nuetrals together, all mates and theres a couple of not locals in aswell. everton go one up and at half time hell brakes loose outside with this little firm of bitters trying to start the old 'murderers' shit. just as carra fouled what;s his name in the last minute one of them jumped up and through a glass at the big screen and shouted 'i fucking hate that team' and the screen got knocked off the wall. not long after this the reds and the blues from the pub were together in kicking shit out of this stupid gang of asshats.
that was the best way i'v seen them get dealt with. if you say something football related they don't understand, fill them in and they won't hassle you again.

Re: The Bitters!?
A considered, broader view.....
I think the problem has more to do with individuals and their level of maturity (or lack of it) rather than the fact that they follow a particular team or not.
As Rudyard Kipling said "If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two impostors just the same - you will be a man my son..." And therein lies the problem - trouble flares when people experience defeat or miss out on a victory and just can't handle it.
Partisanship then leads to prejudice, which in turn precludes the fair evaluation of facts. It also leads to self-righteousness and intolerance.
The problem is not with deeply held convictions, it’s that too many people often think that the more intensely they believe something, the more likely it is that they’re right.
This leads to ranting and name-calling by both Red & Blue which actually does a disservice to both of our clubs.
There are no winners in all of this.
(Don't know what the answer is by the way!!)

A high proportion of these people are deeply psychologically imbalanced.
True story.
