Re: Any decent right backs out there?
Arbeloa was one of the most consistent players in the early part of the season until he was injured.
Finnan is still class.
And Jens is a WUM, plain and simple.

Almost evryone was shit against United tho, if not everyone! but yes he needs to improve defensively, a squad player at most.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
He's had some very good games for us as well. People weren't calling him a squad player when he kept messi quiet. He's a good player who will get better. There are more important positions to worry about with our limited money.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
finnan is surely our best right back when on form. has been bothered with injuries recently.
arbeloa has had some decent games, but has been very inconsistent lately. we could use some speed at both backs though.
i think we need a left back more than a right back.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
finann is a good full back but we need fullbacks with more pace to get up and down the pitch and deliver better service, simple as that.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
I'd have left back as a major priority in the summer, along with the right wing, over rightback. I'd let Riise go if he so wishes, although I have no problem with the guy and think he would be great to keep in the squad as back up for a couple of positions. Aurelio looks class but is too injury prone, Insua could make the step up but needs some experience ahead of him in the pecking order. That then makes it difficult, do we bring in someone of Lahm's quality and stifle Insua's development but give us a great option at left back for a good few years. Or do we bring in someone like Heinze who may not have the pace and attacking flair but would give Insua more chance of a look in.
With regards to right back I think Finnan has been class for us and still has an important role in the squad, but there's no harm in looking beyond that, what with him being 31. I like Arbeloa a lot, he has pace and likes to get forward, I'd be happy with him and Finnan for now but we may need to look at brining someone else in in a year or so.

That's how I see it. I'd go for a top quality LB now and let Insua fight for his place.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
Brown was on Granada reports in a Liverpools strip I remember the photo but recently that seems to have been buried and he blags he's always been a manc.
But then again so does Shance Richie!

Lahm can play left back he'd be a class choice or adriano of sevilla.
Speaking of Bayern players, world soccer claim they'll take 11m for Schweingsteiger, id take him over Bentley.

It's not a priority position for me. Left back and left midfield are.

Re: Any decent right backs out there?
Phillip Lahm would be a outstanding acquisition .the guys class and we have a very good record when it comes to German players
I also rate Stephen Kelly quite highly, almost as highly as I rated Steve Finnan in his early Fulham days
